KEEPING COOL IN THE HEAT

CH Torquay Midnight Confession

Once again our first report of the day comes from Lake Charles LA where   the final seven braved 97 degree temperatures to see BIS judge Lesley Hiltz.  They were the Clumber Spaniel, CH Moonrysn's Moon Dawg, the 15” Beagle, CH Torquay Midnight Confession, the Boxer, CH Winfall I Dream of Style,  the Bedlington Terrier, CH Bluenotes Sweet On Carillon, the Pekingese, CH Franshaw Hear Me Roar, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Chaoyang's Chick Magnet At Asia, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Coventry Pennant Corgi.  We are not surprised that it was the stylish pair, the Beagle, Lola, and handler Marcelo Chagas, who refused to wilt in the heat, taking home BIS number eight of the year.

  1. Talk about a frequent flyer! The beagle is in a different state EVERY weekend!

  2. She keeps her "travel agent" and "party planner" very busy -- I speak from round-the-clock experience!!!!!

  3. The Clumber was not Moon Dawg , it was a class animal

  4. Sad to see so many dogs flying so early in the year. Something needs to be done about this. It isn't fair to the dogs. The win isn't worth killing the dogs!

  6. First people went after Amy Booth for flying dodger and now they are going after this handler for flying the beagle.Get a life people. Its none of our business if they fly this beagle or not.A two hour flight is a whole lot quicker than being stuck in a crate in someone motorhome for 6 hours.

  7. Curious as to how flying dogs is killing them? Obviously these dogs are alive and winning, don't think any of these handlers would jeopardize their dogs!!!!

  8. It just proves these dogs can't win under any judges, they can only win under friends and those that have previously out them up. If all these dogs were so great they should be able to compete without flying every weekend! Not just this dog, but all dogs. Instead they return to the same judges all the time. Dog News has been talking about the amount the top dogs are flown all the time. Flying is stressful on people. Imagine how the dogs feel!

  12. its funny that all of these top dogs are having to fly all over the country to win... there seem to be very few that stay local to a small region and still ALWAYS win.... A prime example is the Sm Fox terrier that Eddie Boyes is showing. He very seldom leaves california and is the number one in breed points, number two terrier in all breed points. Huge congrats to those who are not on a plane EVERY WEEK to further some ego trip they are on

  13. Hey AJ, that Smooth has been on a plane at least 3 times this year too. Hypocrites hide behind false statements and too many false ones written by annonymous or initials. Great dogs win in their back yards and can win when they travel. From now on I wish more people would write positive statements or keep their trash talk off this very wonderful and informative blog. We love this sport. We love these dogs. We hate negative people like you.

  14. Y'all sound like a bunch of jealous crybabies! Sounds like sour grapes to me! And, as far as Ed and his SMT, if all of us were lucky enough to live in CA with their breed/group points, none of us would have to fly anywhere!

    Anonymity is a scary thing!

    GO LOLA AND MARCELO!

    Love you guys,

    Kathy

  15. AJ and Anonymous(june 13,8:25 am)-Alot of these professional handlers travel to these dog shows all over the country by huge motorhomes.Professional handlers would never put their dogs at risk of sickness or death because they love their dogs and what they do.Maybe before you start second guessing on something you know nothing about you should go talk to a professional handler and then you would find out for sure what their life and their dogs life is really like when they are not at home.

Also another thing-Green is not a good color for you.
