THIS WEEK'S SHOWS

After the month of June’s plethora of shows, this week’s offerings seem meager by comparison. Only nine locations will host shows over the holiday weekend. However, the shows are well dispersed and just about everyone will find a show within easy access.

Our largest cluster is the five day Yankee Classic beginning tomorrow in West Springfield MA with the Kenilworth Kennel Club Of Connecticut, and the Naugatuck Valley, Holyoke, & Farmington Valley Kennel Clubs all taking turns. The Catoctin, Northeastern Maryland, Upper Marlboro, and National Capital Kennel Clubs will be staging four shows in West Friendship MD kicking off Thursday.

There are three day weekends beginning Friday in Sedalia MO, Dallas TX, and Ventura CA. Illini get in three shows by visiting the Blackhawk Kennel Club in Amboy on Saturday, then pulling up stakes and driving 50 miles northeast to De Kalb for two days with the Greater De Kalb KC. Standard two day fare is available in Hamlin NY, Monroe MI, and Beaverton OR.

So have your July 4th hot dog with some hot dogs at an AKC Dog Show this week. We wish you a safe and sane holiday.
