We know it’s only Wednesday, but for the folks up in West Springfield MA started their weekend early with the Naugatuck Valley Kennel Club hosting the first of five shows. We guess in New England you got to make the most of the good weather when you have it.

CH Casbar’s Hart To Hart

Today’s judge was Madeleine Fish and day one finalists were the Labrador Retriever, CH Casbar’s Hart To Hart, the Basset Hound, CH Topsfield-Sanchu Pop Art O'Bridi, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Allure Blazing Star Alisaton, the Bedlington Terrier, CH Velvety Angel Eyes, the Pekingese, CH Lin-Lee’s For the Good Times, the Bulldog, CH Kepley’s Showbiz Razzle Dazzle, and the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.

Today’s winner was the striking black Lab, RJ. RJ is the country’s number one Lab, number three Sporting Dog, and number 18 all breeds. This cluster bears watching. Not only were there over 1000 dogs entered on a Wednesday, but there are multiple top 20 dogs in the competition, as well as a couple of up and coming recent BIS winners.
