The Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, this year's current Number One Dog All Breeds, is now the winningest Working Dog in AKC history. Matisse and handler Michael Scott collected their 125th career Best In Show, eclipsing the record set nearly three decades ago by the Doberman Pinscher, CH Brunswig’s Cryptonite, call name Kafka.

Today’s win came at the Greater Monroe Kennel Club show in Concord NC. On hand in Norman Kenney’s final to witness the event were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaze'R 'N Wingfield Wait Wait Don'T Tell, the Greyhound, GCH CH GrandCru Phelps Insignia, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Broxden Shark Dressed Man, the Reserve winner, the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country’s Tag I’m It, the Tibetan Spaniel, CH Kan Sing’s Po-Ba-Ri at Arundina, and the Rough Collie, GCH CH Blu Ridge Make Way.

Matisse and Michael have logged a remarkable 29 BIS in 39 final appearances this year, the best winning ratio of any Top Ten Dog in the last decade. Our congratulations to Michael, breeder Donna Gottdenker and owners Milan Lint & Peggy Helming.
