OES HAT TRICK IN SYRACUSE

GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect

While much of our attention is focused on our Top Ten Dogs All Breeds, sometimes the dogs trying to make it into the Top Ten have more interesting stories.  The nation’s Number One Herding Dog, the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect, was far from his Colorado home this week as he swept the three shows in Syracuse NY over the weekend.

GCH CH Weymouth’s En Fuego

It all started on Friday with the Central New York Kennel Club’s opener where judge Roland Pelland chose Swagger out of a seven that included his RBIS, the English Setter, GCH CH Weymouth’s En Fuego, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH DC Hallam’s Jordan of Arolet SC, the St Bernard, GCH CH Jamelle’s Aristocrat v Elba RN CGC, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Charthill Top Billing, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Sakura, and the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Rinchen’s Blazing Icon.

GCH CH McVan’s From Russia with Love

Swagger and handler Colton Johnson would also top judge Thomas Bradley’s final at Saturday’s Del-Otse-Nango Kennel Club show.   Judge Bradley also liked the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH McVan’s From Russia with Love, whom he gave the Reserve award.  Rounding out the final were the English springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Dixeland Duchess, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Bridgehill’s Mr Mason’s Misbehavin, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Spillways Man  About Town Kodiak, the aforementioned Toy Poodle, Sakura, and the Dalmatian, GCH CH Canal-Side Imperator.

Swagger and Colton would close it out on Sunday at the Chenango Kennel Club show.  Judge Susan Godek named the Toy Poodle, Sakura, as his RBIS after considering the Pointer, Weimpoint Keep Smiling, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Soonpi Friends in Low Places MLH, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Ramahill Absolute’s I Am Legend RW, the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CH Deerhaven Hez Justin Kredible at Orion, and the Bulldog, Poolbrook Low Profile of Creekside.

Swagger started the month as the Number 12 Dog All Breeds.  We will have to wait until this weekend’s numbers are all in to see if Swagger’s record of 23 BIS and 51 Herding Groups will move him into the Top Ten.
