This morning we turn to two venues that have long standing
traditions in the dog world, the three
day stop in Harrisburg PA hosted by the Lebanon County Kennel Club, the Harrisburg
Kennel Club, and the Mason And Dixon Kennel Club. April 12-14 and the three day
Maryland institution hosted by the Old Dominion Kennel Club Of Northern
Virginia, the Baltimore County Kennel Club, and the Catoctin Kennel Club.
GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Ticket to Ride
The numbers were up in Harrisburg this year with 5300
entries over the long weekend. Saturday ended
with Ken Buxton in the final ring with the English Springer Spaniel, CH Cerise
Sentinel, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Samoyed, CH
McMagic’s Mojo, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Ticket to Ride, the
Pug, GCH CH Hill Country Tag I’m It, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing's
Tenzin, and the Belgian Tervuren, GCH CH Hillside Special And Hamazing.
Best went to the country’s Number Two Toy Dog, the Pug, JJ,
and Reserve went to the Norfolk, Rider. The
win was JJ’s fifth BIS of the year, making him the nation’s Number Nine Dog All
Breeds.

Marion Dee Ward had the main event on Saturday and a mostly
new seven from which to choose her BIS & RBIS, the German Shorthaired
Pointer, GCH CH Stelor's Royalty
Remembered, the Otterhound, CH Scentasia´s End Of An Era, the same Sammie, the
Wire Fox Terrier, CH Crispy Legacy, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Sakura, the
Lowchen, CH Paceaway Play It Again, and the Briard, GCH CH Deja Vu Mia Cool As
A Cucumber.

Her BIS was the Wire Fox, Sparky, and her RBIS was the
Briard, Dill. It was the Swedish import’s
second BIS since his debut last month.

The Mason and Dixon KC had the closer and they put Alice
Inman in the final ring with the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Mario N
Beechwoods Midnight Express, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir,
the Sammie, Mojo, the Wire Fox, Sparky, the
Maltese, GCH CH Scylla's Small Kraft Re-Lit, the Tibetan Spaniel, Tenzin, and
the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Boy.

Taking home the set’s last big rosette was the Maltese, Hank. Reserve went to the Tibbie, Tenzin. Hank
has been the country’s Number One Maltese for the last two years. This was his second BIS of the year.

The following week the Old Dominion Kennel Club of Northern
Virginia kicked off the all breed action on Saturday with almost 2400
dogs. The seven who stayed all day to
see BIS judge Carolyn Herbel were the Gordon Setter, CH Hollyhunt Take A Chance
On Me, the Whippet, GCH CH Artemis Hypnotic Opium SC, the Boxer, GCH CH Lazy
K’s Dulce De Leche, the Welsh Terrier, CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Just For Kicks,
the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash JP Sakura, the Tibbie, Tenzin, and the Bearded
Collie, CH Ha’Penny Miramar The Fab Fawn.

Taking home the big BIS was the Whippet, Poppy. Taking home the RBIS was the Toy Poodle, Sakura. It was the first for the not yet two year
old. Congratulations to breeders/owners Rhonda

Richard Beauchamp had Sunday’s Baltimore Country KC final
and his pick of the previously seen Gordon, Otterhound, Wire Fox, the Boxer,
GCH CH Hi Tech The King of Sherry Shoot Jp, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH
Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Rinchen's Blazing Black
Icon, and the Border Collie, CH Kensington’s Image Of Bon-Clyde He chose the MinPin, Classie, as his best and
the Boxer, King, as his Reserve. Classie
is the country’s Number One Toy Dog with 21 all breed Bests.
GCH CH Jade East Do Know The Way to San Jose
The Catoctin Kennel Club wrapped it up on Monday with Dr
Gary Sparschu mulling over the above named Gordon & Foxhound, the Samoyed, GCH CH McMagic’s
Candied Ham Of Pebbles’run, the Wire Fox, Sparky, the Cavalier King Charles
Spaniel, GCH CH Piccadil’s Twist and Shout, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Jade
East Do Know The Way to San Jose, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Whisperwood’s
Wild Horse.
Taking home his third BIS of the year was the Wire,
Sparky. The Shar-Pei, Jose, went home
with the RBIS. We will be looking for
this Wire in the weeks to come.
