With just 18 all breed shows in the lower 48 this week one
would think these shows would draw bigger numbers than previous weekends
offering more options. However, such is
not the case. Shows in South Carolina,
Florida, and Mississippi s struggled to draw 500 dogs.

The up side is that these small shows drew top knotch
talent. In Hilton Head SC, the country’s
Number Two Dog All Breeds, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s
Box, was Joe Walton’s Best In Show at Saturday’s Hilton Head Island Kennel Club
show. Joining Jewel and
breeder/owner/handler Lisa Miller were the RBIS, the Brittany, GCH CH Brookewood’s
Just Too Hot XF MXJ MX CDX, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH D’s Remember When,
the Sealyham Terrier, CH Efbe’s Thunder Rd At Burberry, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH
Smash Jp Sakura, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk,
and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker’s Rumpus Bumpus.
Jewel leads all dogs in AKC this year with 11 BIS in 16 final
ring appearances.
