Our first report of the day comes in from Marietta OH. If you ever dissed small shows take a look at Keke Kahn’s final. Her seven options were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Great Dane, GCH CH Longo Miller N Lore Diamond Lil, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake Simply Sinful, the Shih Tzu, Aiko's Star Chaser, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.
Six of the finalists are multiple BIS winner. One is this year's Number One Hound. Another has been the Number One Herding Dog for the last two years. Yet another is the Number One Non-Sporting Dog & the 2011 AKC/Eukanuba National Champion. A fourth was the Number One Dog All Breeds in 2011.
It was last year’s Number One, the Cocker, Beckham taking home a record setting 109th career BIS. He has now on 18 big rosettes this year. Remember to check out those small shows. You never know who will show up.
No such thing as an easy BIS, I've seen some of the strongest lineups at the smallest shows ... :)
