GCH CH Efbe’s Goodspice Easy Money

While the first week of October can be wet & chilly in suburban Philadelphia, today’s 77th Montgomery County Kennel Club show was greeted by sunny skies and downright balmy temperatures today in Blue Bell PA.  1600 dogs showed up to compete at the largest limited breed show in AKC.
Four of the breeds had more than 100 dogs showing.  Those BOB winners were the Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Maverston Double Dutch, the Scottish Terrier, CH Deblin’s Just Talk’N, the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, CH Greentree Rising Star, and the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CH Blythefell Fergus.

Australian judge Keith Lovell got to see all 29 AKC Terrier breeds/varieties in his group, an exceedingly rare occurrence these days.  He whittled those down to nine, the Airedale, GCH CH Brisline’s GoForIt Energizer Bunny, the Bedlington, CH First Class Syrah d’Hermitage, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Perrisblu Kennislain’s Chelsey, the Lakeland, CH Northcote’s No Doubt, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Waiterock Jack Falstaff, the Sealyham Terrier, GCH CH Efbe’s Goodspice Easy Money, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Bruhill’s First Lady, and the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Steele Your Heart.

In 2008 handler Margery Good stood in the center ring with the Sealyham Terrier, CH Efbe's Hidalgo At Goodspice.  Today she was standing there with another Sealyham, Valley.  Rounding out the placements were the Wire Fox, the Kerry, & the Airedale.  Valley is the country’s Number One Sealyham all systems with two all breed BIS and 13 Terrier Groups this year.  We say Brava! & congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Margery Good, co-breeder Frances Bergeron, and owner Sandra Middlebrooks.

  1. Can you include the name of the Norwich that Keith Lovell pulled?

  2. Valley has 3 AKC BIS in her career. Margery also won BIS at Montgomery two other times with a Sealyham and a Lakeland, tying the record for most BIS for a handler and she is now the winningest female handler at Montgomery.

  3. I think it was Woody's Norwich

  4. Please let me correct myself, Marge hasn't tied the handler for the most BIS (that is Peter Green with 8) but she is most certainly the winningest female handler.

The Norwich was Wood Wornall's Jack.

  5. This was a huge surprise, none of the people around me were guessing the Sealyham, but everyone was delighted! Marge is a wonderful person. everyone is happy for her.

  6. Marge is a lovely lady and one of the kindest people I've met in the fancy. I was so happy for her.
