GCH CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman
Atlanta GA was the place to be this week if you were looking for majors and ranking enhancing big points. The Douglasville Kennel Club Of Georgia opened the three all breed set and finished up the day with Lee Canalizo’s final. Hoping to collect more than 1500 points were the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, GCH CH Fireside’s Spontaneous Combustion, the Greyhound, GCH CH GrandCru Erasmus, the Great Dane, GCH CH DRD’s The Revelation, the winner of Thursday’s Atlanta Terrier Club show, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the winner of Thursday’s Greater Atlanta Toy Dog Association show, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH Ta Se Bon James Bond, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Rumpus Bumpus.
Day one was one for the record books as judge Canalizo’s BIS was the 37th career win for the Skye, Buddy, breaking a record that has stood for 40 plus years. Buddy is the most consistent Terrier in the US with 98 Terrier Groups this year alone, nearly twice the number of any other Terrier. Our congratulations to breeders Eugene Z Zaphiris & Matthew H Stander, owners Carolyn Koch & Victor Malzoni Jr, and handler Larry Cornelius.
The Atlanta Kennel Club took center stage on Saturday and asked Dr John Reeve-Newson to choose his best of the above named WPG, Greyhound, Skye, &MinPin, the Neapolitan Mastiff, CH Otello Bruto, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight's Ruffian, the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Myshara’s Dream Girl. He chose the Greyhound, Era. Era and breeder/owner/handler Rindi Gaudet have had a great run collecting 26 all breed BIS over the last three seasons, seven this year.
The Newnan Kennel Club closed it out on Sunday with Nicola Imbimbo in the final ring with the aforementioned WPG, Great Dane, Skye & MinPin, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Field’s Bahama Sands, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Bayous The Warrior, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Dalarno Nite Song At Morningstar.
Taking home the big rosette and nearly 2000 points was the Corgi, Spencer. It’s the sixth of the year for Spencer and handler Frank Murphy, two this month.
