DETROIT KENNEL CLUB DAY ONE

GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy

More than 1500 dogs gathered today for the first of the two all breed shows from the Detroit (MI) Kennel Club this weekend.  The seven that made it to Dr Richard Meen’s final were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Greyhound, GCH CH GrandCru Clos Erasmus, the Bullmastiff, Bullstock’s Aengus Scott, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Huntwood’s Joy Ride Of Moorcraft, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Miniature Poodle, CH Surrey Sugar Baby, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH JusDandy Devine Mz Em.

His BIS was the Pekingese, Malachy.  It’s the first all breed BIS this year for Malachy and owner handler David Fitzpatrick, who took a break after finishing 2010  as the Number Two Dog All Breeds with 63 all breed Bests and an 138 Toy Group wins.   This year they have had several important appearances including a limited breed BIS at the prestigious Toys only Progressive Dog Club show and a Group One at Westminster three weeks ago.  Congratulations to David, breeders Jim & Jean Smith, and owners Iris Love & Sandra Middlebrook.

  1. Yeah, poor David "took a break" in more ways than one! I hope his broken arm is better now.
