IT'S ALL OVER IN MONTANA

CH Slyfox Sneaks A Peek

The Great Wilderness Trek, a 15 day, 14 show adventure through Idaho and Montana came to a conclusion today In Missoula MT with the third show hosted by the Five Valley Kennel Club.  Roger Hartinger’s final final included the German Shorthaired Pointer, CH Autumn’s Stardust And Roses, the Bloodhound, CH Quiet Creek’s Kiss And Tell, the Akita, CH Mojo’s Rock’N Your World, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Slyfox Sneaks A Peek, the Pekingese, CH Dunkirk’s Copyright, the Bulldog, CH Graybull Ketel One, and the Rough Collie, Gentry;s Braveheart.

It may seem redundant to some, but it was a thrilling end to a thrilling two weeks with the Smooth Fox, Adam, getting his fifth BIS of the eight show effort.  It was good enough to move Adam, the Number Two Terrier, from the Number 15 Dog All Breeds spot all the way to the Number Eight.  Our congratulations to breeders Joan & Mark Taggart, owner James W Smith, and the hard working handler Eddie Boyes.

  1. Too bad Adam missed Great Western. It would have been nice to see him with the big terrier boys.

  2. Adam was not present for the Idaho part of the circuit, so five best in shows in eight days is even more impressive! Congratulations Team Adam!

  3. I saw Adam compete and win against the big terrier boys, in Chicago and Louisville. He is quite a dog.

  4. He certainly is a lovely example of the breed. I'd personally like to see him take the top spot...

  11. Breed point leader, that would be the dog that shows mostly in Cal where there are more smooths. What's your point?

  12. Adam and Dodger have competed against each other on ten occasions. Adam has won seven of those by winning best of breed, and on one of those occasions, a bitch won the breed and Adam went best opposite.

  13. There are two tremendous examples of one breed out winning at some of the biggest and most prestigious shows in the nation this year. Rather than bicker about which one "should be" the top dog, why not take a step back and applaud the breeders, owners and handlers for producing and campaigning two such fabulous representatives of their breed regardless of what the rankings say. Seeing each of them compete numerous times has been a privilege for me, hats off to all of those involved with these two great dogs!

  15. Bottom line, both are lovely dogs. Amy's dog took a very nice win in California. Eddie's dog took five BIS. I'll bet both camps are quite happy with their results...so, I'd say the rest of us should be happy for them. And I'd also say that if y'all want to stir things up, be brave and do it the right way...sign your name to the pot you stir.
