FIRST TIMER IN FLORIDA

It’s day three in Brooksville FL and our host was the Inverness Florida Kennel Club and our judge was Denny Mounce.

Her final seven were the German Wirehaired Pointer, CH Ripsnorter’s MT View Lookout, the Afghan Hound, CH Genesis Silverado, the Siberian Husky, CH Topaz T.R.O.U.B.L.E., the Sealyham Terrier, CH Efbe’s Merci Pour Le Poivre, the Shih Tzu, CH Hallmark Jolei Austin Powers, the Dalmatian, CH Troika’s Adagio, and the Australian Shepherd CH Mysharas Dream Girl.

Her Best In Show was the 18 month old Shih Tzu, the latest from Shih Tzu specialists Luke & Diane Ehricht. We think this is his first all breed BIS. We do know that he was Best of Winners at the American Shih Tzu Club’s 2009 Nastional Specialty. He was bred by the Ehrichts, is owned by Joe C Walton & Roberta Walton, and is handled by Luke. Congratulations to them all. We hope to have a photo of this boy for you soon.

  1. It was really funny when Denny Mounce announced her BIS pick---it was very windy, and only a few of the spectators (like me) could hear her. No one applauded, no one moved, because no one knew who had won! Not even the winner, for a few moments!

  2. Joe Walton, the shih tzu owner, judged bis today at corpus christi kc. He put the Treasure island golden bis. Other finalists I remember were clint's PBGV as well, Scott sommer's wire fox and bichon, sherri hurst's cardigan corgi, Larry Dewey's Min Pin, and a bullmastiff I didn't recognize.

  3. For your information, Ch Hallmark Jolei Austin Powers was the National Specialty BOB winner at 10 1/2 months from the Bred By Class in mid May in Oklahoma City, OK. He also was Best in Sweeps at the National and BOW at the Specialty preceding the National. He finished in 5 shows undefeated.
