WE DO MAKE ERRORS

We have a couple of corrections to post. However, a word about how we collect our information.

For show results our primary source is the AKC Weekly Wins. Because these results are usually only posted during bankers’ business hours, we also use the superintendents websites for information. INFODOG, MBF’s site, is especially timely often posting results within an hour of BIS, even on weekends. Finally we have a network of I-Reporters that send us in reports.

Now all of these sources make errors. Owners, especially, should check to ensure the AKC is getting it right. The Weekly Wins report is an unofficial report, but if they got it wrong there, they may have the official record wrong as well.

CH Shor’Line Jetoca High Seas Adventure RN JH
and Handler Kate Batzner-Northern

We got a comment this morning on our 19 Jan 09 report on the Central Iowa Kennel Club show in Des Moines IA on 18 Jan 09. The anonymous commenter noted, three months after the fact, that we got the Sporting Group winner wrong. Well, we checked the AKC Weekly Wins, and they still have the reported Golden Retriever, CH Halogolds Take Me On A Journey, listed as the winner. A review of the superintendent’s, Jack Onofrio Dog Shows, site reveals the actual winner was the Golden, CH Shor’Line Jetoca High Seas Adventure RN JH. Since the super posted his results a week after our report, we were unaware of the AKC’s and our errors.

Our apologies to breeder/owner Cynthia Binder, co-breeder Julie Caruthers, and handler Kate Batzner-Northern, our congratulations to them on their Group win, and our admonishment, check those AKC reports, they may have the official record wrong. Finally, thank you for providing us the correction. We do try to get you results timely and accurately.

CH Aurora’s Walk This Way

We also received this more timely correction from Julie Mueller of Aurora Kennels. Julie was one of those brave exhibitors that fought the bad weather to show at the Claremore Kennel Club of Oklahoma. She was rewarded with a Hound Group One win for her striking Saluki, CH Aurora’s Walk This Way, only for us to get it wrong.

Tyler-Joe, was the sole puppy in a litter produced by artifical insemination from 22 year old sperm. This very special three year old was bred Nancy Bodine, is owned by Julie & AKC judge Eugene Blake. Gene Blake was a professional handler for over three decades before becoming a judge and piloted Tyler-Joe to this win. Bravo on the win and thanks for the great photo and the opportunity to correct our error.
