REGIONS FIVE & SIX RESULTS

We have done a lot of reporting on Region Five, the South Central Region, this weekend, but we still have one more locale to report out. In Crosby TX, the San Jacinto Kennel Club held a pair of shows.

CH Raindrops Justus Life's A Game

On Saturday, judge Leonora Riddle gathered the Field Spaniel, CH Bitterblue's Here Comes Da Judge., the Harrier, CH Pacific's Serenading Anthem, the Rottweiler, CH Evrmor Xtraordinaire V Stoneridge, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune, the Pomeranian, Windsor's Fasten Ur Seatbelt, the French Bulldog, CH Raindrops Justus Life's A Game, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, CH Spotlight Jamboree.

It was a rare day for a rare breed as the Field Spaniel picked up a Best In Show, the first for the breed this year. As rare as it is, this is not the three year old’s first. He finished 2008 with two top prizes. Congratualtions to breeder/owner Lynn Finney, co-owners Katherine C Sullivan, & H Howard, and handler Carl Sanders.

CH Risgae Miabella Sweet Georgia

Day two saw judge Arlene Benko collect the same Harrier and Rott along with the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, CH Chesabar's Anyone Anyone, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, CH Lonsdale Ralph Rackstraw, the Toy Fox Terrier, CH Viva Virtuoso Of Andros, the Bichon Frise, CH Risgae Miabella Sweet Georgia, Boxer and the Belgian Sheepdog, CH Cibola's Absolutely Cool At Adagio.

It’s been a good weekend for the Non Sporting Group and this show went to the Bichon, Georgia. A month ago, we had not heard of this pretty. Since that time she has collected two BIS.

Region Six, the Northwest, always boast some heavy hitters and this weekend was no different. The action was up in Centrailia WA where the Timberland Valley Dog Fanciers Association hosted the fun.

CH Randenn Tristar Affirmation

On Day one judge Janet Turnage Nahikian went over the Golden, Retriever, CH Smoketree's Hops On Pops, the whippet, CH Sonsteby's In A Pickle, the Boxer, CH Capri's Magic Maker Of Sassy, the Norwich Terrier, CH Me And Bobbie Magee, the Blenheim and Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, CH Cheri-A Wingo Lord Nelson, the Standard Poodle, CH Randenn Tristar Affirmation, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Sanrick's Virtual Reality.

Her speedy BIS was the three year old Whippet. She has been on our a radar since winning two groups a month ago. Congratulations to breeders Jane Cooney-Waterhouse & Kristy Kenyon, owners Kellie Padon & Kristy Kenyon., and handler Andy Linton.

CH Sky Acres Spy Plane

Three dogs made it back to the final on day two, the Golden, Louie, the Boxer, Dante, and the Poodle, Yes. Four other dogs joined them in BIS judge Rita Bell‘s ring, the Black & Tan Coonhound, CH Silver Ridge Showtyme At Windbourne, the Miniature Bull Terrier, CH Nederes' Adventures With Stitch, snd the Affenpinscher, CH Pramada's Naughty Natalie, and the Belgian Tervuren, CH Sky Acres Spy Plane.

It was the Tevuren, Spy, picking up his second BIS in a week. We must note that this is fourth outing that last year’s Top Non Sporting dog has been shut out. Yes is currently sitting at 97 career all breed BIS and has been only showing close to home of late. While we would like to see her hit the century mark, we have to say it is a testament to the quality of the dogs in AKC that she has not yet hit that mark.

We’ll be back with our last report of the day from Region Seven, the Southwest Region.
