CATCHING UP WITH NUMBER ONE

The country’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, continues to pull away from the rest of the field, scoring back2back BIS at the Thursday and Friday shows of the Singing River Kennel Club Of Mississippi    in the Gulf front town of Biloxi MS.

Joining Sky and handler Gabriel Rangel in June Penta’s final on Thursday were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Lochlomond's Wrapped Up In You JH, the Treeing Walker Coonhound, GCH CH Alexanders Gold Rush Xcetera, the Great Dane, GCH CH Longo Miller N Lore's Diamond Lil, the Papillon, GCH CH Wildfire On the Record, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Jade East Do You Know The Way To San Jose, and the Reserve winner, the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Boy.

Sky was Jay Richardson’s BIS at the SRKC Saturday show and the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, was the RBIS.  Rounding out the final were the Whippet, GCH CH Bo-Bett Quick Pick and the above named Irish Setter, Papillon, Shar-Pei, & Sheltie.  Sky’s 51st BIS increases her lead to better than 12,000 points.

TUXEDO PARK KENNEL CLUB

Over 1500 dogs showed up in Bridgewater NJ for today’s Tuxedo Park Kennel Club show.  The prospect of all those points drew top ranked dogs from all over the nation.

The seven who made it all the way to judge Frank Sabella’s final were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Evergreen’s Good Intentions, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Elysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval’s Angel’s Whisper, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Sakura, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Winning Card, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect.

Taking all those points and the BIS was the Afghan Hound, Ryder.  Getting the photo op and the RBIS was the OES, Swagger.  We have quite a race in Afghan Hounds this year.  Ryder is the Number Two Afghan Hound and the Number Six Hound with eight BIS and 27 Hound Groups.

With five all breed shows Lexington KY drew many of the nation’s top dogs last week.  Check our archives on the right hand sidebar for Thursday and Friday results.

GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery

On Saturday judge Rhonda Ralphs was in the final ring for the hometown Lexington Kennel Club.  The seven hoping to gain her favor were the English Springer Spaniel, CH Cerise Dixieland Dutchess, the Black & Tan Coonhound, CH Foxfire Full Force Gale, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country Tag I’m It, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

The Giant, Dora, was her BIS and the Corgi, Libby, was her RBIS.  It was the second BIS of the stop for Dora, the nation’s Number Two Working Dog and Number Four Dog All Breeds with 19 BIS and 48 Working groups.

The Coonhound, Pug, and Bichon would return on Sunday to see BIS judge Susan St John-Brown.  Joining them were the Pointer, GCH CH Oncore Mykyna Storm, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Blackhawk Finnegan’s Wake, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab Bayleigh Maid of Honor, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect.

She would go with the Pointer, Stormy, as her Best and the Welsh Terrier, Jennie, as her Reserve.  It’s the first BIS of the year for Stormy and breeder/owner/handler Dr Patricia Haines.  Congratulations to Patti, co-breeders Peggy Davis, Amy Walker and Racheal Murphy, and owners Thaddeus Haines and Peggy Davis.

GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk

The Mid-Kentucky Kennel Club had Monday’s closer and they asked Charles Olvis to choose his top two from the English Setter, GCH CH Stargazr'n Wingfield Time Will Tell, and the now familiar Coonhound, Giant Schnauzer, Welsh Terrier, Pug, Bichon, and the OES, GCH CH Bugaboo's Picture Perfect.

He would select the Bichon, Honor as his BIS and the Coonhound, Molly, as his RBIS.  It’s the second BIS of the set and the 12th of the year for the nation’s Number Two Non-Sporting Dog.

We next return to Amana IA where the Tri-City Kennel Club and the Cedar Rapids Kennel Association were set up for four days this past week.  We did tell you that Friday’s TCKC show was won by the Brussels Griffons, CH Fist Face A Penny For Your Thoughts.

Saturday’s TCKC final was called by judge Paula Hartinger.  The seven she considered were the Flat-Coated Retriever, CH Heirborn Moor Bang For The Buck, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Daniel Boon Pelaez, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Pouch Cove’s Seabrook Enough Said, the Australian Terrier, GCH CH Temora Ri Diercc, the Shih Tzu, CH Jadesilk Luv T’auburn Locks, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin hearts on Fire, and the Puli, CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.  Her Best was the Shih Tzu, Joelene, and her Reserve, the Standard Poodle, Flame.

Jolene , Flame, and the above named Newfoundland & Puli would return on Sunday to for Dr Gay Sparchu’s final.  They would be joined by the Vizsla, CH Buddydog JP GJ Kiss’N Bodaciously, the Whippet, GCH CH Kamada’s New York Minute, & the Airedale Terrier, CH Echo’s New York Minute.

Taking the CRKC’s day one BIS was the Standard Poodle, Flame.  Picking up the RBIS was the Puli, Charlotte.  Flame is the nation’s Number Two Standard Poodle and Number Three Non-Sporting Dog with nine BIS and55 Non-Sporting Groups.

Judge Roger Hartinger had Monday’s closer and his pick of the previously seen Flat Coat, Newfoundland, Airedale, Shih Tzu, & Standard Poodle, the Wirehaired Dachshund, CH Twinkies Orrin at Carowynd, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Live the Dream.

The Shih Tzu, Jolene, would pack up her second BIS of the set while the Newfoundland would collect the RBIS.  That’s number seven this year for Jolene and handler Mandy Carlson…and still we have no photo.

We had a rare Mountain Time Zone show this past weekend in Cheyenne WY where the hometown kennel club hosted two shows.  Judge Jon Cole had Saturday’s final and the company of the Brittany, GCH CH  Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly Handsome, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, the Akita, GCH CH Stardust’s See You at the Show, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH High Mtn Everso Smooth, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Miletree Northern Star at Shirmont, the Lhasa Apso, CH Sundancer Hylan Shotru Secret Dawn, the Bouvier des Flandres, Rocheuses Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone.

His top two were the Saluki, Bubbles, and the Brittany, Beckett.  It’s the ninth BIS and 48th Hound Group for Bubbles and handler Erin Roberts.

Bubbles would be the only of Saturday’s finalists to make it back to Loraine Boutwell’s final on Sunday.  Joining them were the Welsh Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Royalart’s Payola, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Melrose Walk The Line, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Tomar’s Captain Kirk, the Maltese, CH Maltangel Heavenly Vision, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Vaje’s Jethrene Bodine, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Tang Dynasty Rocky.

Bubbles would play bridesmaid, taking home the Reserve award, while the Springer copped the Best In Show.  It’s the first BIS this year for the six year old dog.  Congratulations to breeders D Johnson, J Haverick, C Ford, & S Traylor, and owner Shelly Spencer Marx.
