SCOTTISH DEERHOUND NATIONAL

CH Lehigh Ennis Carmichael

We have one more national specialty to tell you about.  227 Scottish Deerhounds descended upon the Bavarian Inn Lodge & Conference Center in Frankenmuth MI this past week for the  2012 National Specialty of the Scottish Deerhound Club of America.  On Saturday Dana Cline named his Best of Breed, CH Lehigh Ennis Carmichael.  His Best of Opposite Sex was GCH CH  Lehigh-Darkwynd Flora.  Winners Dog & Best of Winners went to Dhu Mohr Sweet Justice At Staghill and Winners Bitch was Dhu Mohr Quince At Peartree.

It’s the second consecutive national BISS for breeder Paula Pascoe, who won the 2011 National with Ennis’ litter sister, GCH CH Lehigh-Darkwynd Enella.  Three year ago we saw a photo of Ennis when he went Best Puppy In Show at the Detroit Kennel Club show.  His sire and dam (CH Jaraluv Michael & CH Lehigh Darkwynd Caragh) were both multiple BIS winners. Deerhound fans may recognize CH Jaraluv Michael as the sire of the top winning Scottish Deerhound in history, CH Jaraluv Ouija, who was a Top Ten Dog All Breeds in 2008 and won the Hound Group at the 2008 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.  Ennis was bred by Paula Pascoe & Pam Smithson, owned by Paula & her husband, Grant Winchell, and handled by Grant.  Congratulations to them all.
