GCH CH Trumpet’s No Questions Asked

The Edwardsville Illinois Kennel Club chose nearby Belleville IL as the site for their two shows this weekend, asking judge Florence Males to take the Saturday final.  The seven dogs that she saw were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Shameless, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Antara’s Homey Don’t Play Dat!, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Camio’s Educated Exemplar, the Yorkshire Terrier, Doza Takes a Licking and Keeps on Ticking, the Keeshond, GCH CH Trumpet’s No Questions Asked, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv’s Sultry Sensation.

Taking the BIS was the Keeshond, Shady.  Collecting the RBIS was the Springer, Randy.  Shady has three BIS in 20 final attempts this year.  Look for Shady and 24 more beautiful Keeshond in David Kirkland’s ring (3) at 1:30 PM on Saturday in Orlando.

Shady, the Whippet, Brazen, and the OES, Andrew would all be back in the final ring on Sunday to try their luck with judge Bill Shelton.  They were joined by the English Setter, GCH CH Stargazer N Wingfield Wait Wait Don’t Tell, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Element Rock Star, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH First Class Willow Wind The Phoenix, and the Pomeranian, GCH CH Kartella’s Pressed and Mezhrd Gold.

Judge Shelton BIS was the Setter, Teller, and his RBIS was the Whippet, Brazen.  Teller is the nation’s Number One English Setter, Number Two Sporting Dog, and Number Eight Dog All Breeds with 17 BIS and 73 Sporting Groups.  Look for us in Orlando at ring 18 at 10:15 AM Saturday where we will be watching judge Charles Trotter consider, Teller, and 18 more very competitive English setters.

The German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lockenhaus Rumor Has It V Kenlyn, spent the weekend in Rosemont IL collecting back2back BIS at the Skokie Valley Kennel Club’s two shows.

Judge Arley Hussin picked Rumor out of a lineup that included the English Setter, GCH CH Blu'Star's Bedrock Boss RA, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner’s International S’Cess, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Gamegards I'll Have Another V Braeside, his RBIS, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, GCH CH King’s Mtn Angelina Ballerina, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Ista's Southern Gentleman, and the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine’s Deck the Halls.

On Sunday Rumor impressed judge Charles Olvis more than did his RBIS, the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the returning Bloodhound & Dandie, Nathan and Angie, the Havanese, GCH CH Qbin’s Strictly Confidential at Enginuity, or the aforementioned Shar-Pei, Tinsel. Rumor heads to Orlando with seven BIS and 43 Herding Groups.

The hometown Greater Miami Dog Club offered fanciers an Orlando warmup this weekend asking judge Jerry Watson to take the Sunday final. His seven options were the Parti Colored Cocker Spaniel, Galaksi This Is Me, the Saluki, GCH CH Baha Persian Of Interest CD RN SC OA AXJ NF, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Monarch’s Empire Maker, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Kebulak Born To Tease, the Pug, GCH CH Chelsea’s Fantasy Dressed To Impress, the Bulldog, GCH CH Just Lonestar Bright Lights Big City, and Saturday’s BIS, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Riverside Get Over It.

We don’t get to report a BIS by a Toy Manchester Terrier often and we can’t remember the last time we saw back2back BIS by a Toy Manchester. So we are delighted to tell you that the Toy Manchester Terrier, GCH CH Cottage Lakes Our Lady Of Fatima, took the top awards at the Forsyth Kennel Club’s Saturday and Sunday shows in Winston-Salem NC.

Saturday judge Arlene Benko would choose Lucia out of a seven that included her RBIS, the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Foxwood’s Dublin Diva, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Crossroads Full Throttle, the Boxer, CH Vixayos Golden Hammer, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsand’s Billie Jean CA, the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Katbird’s Evolution Matters At Kayas, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.

Sunday Lucia would impress judge Pat Mowbray-Morgan more than did her RBIS, the returning Puli, Charlotte, who impressed her more than did the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Legacy Random Titleist, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Avatar Cosmac Storm, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Angarda Deja Vu Looking At You, and the Xoloitzcuintli, GCH CH Bayshore Giorgio Armani. The two wins were the first for Fatima in ten final appearances this year and the first by a Toy Manchester in the last two years. Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Marcelo Chagas and breeder/owner Dr Robert Travis.

Judge Anne Savory Bolus closed the Valley Forge Kennel Club’s two day stop in suburban Philadelphia, naming the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Tashtin’s Lookin for Trouble, her Best In Show and the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, her Reserve.

Rounding out her final were the Welsh Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Trystyn Statesman Cactus Blue, the Sealyham Terrier, GCH CH Goodspice Efbe’s Know Easy Way Out, the Papillon, Riegel Cogar Salatino Pretty Woman, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Barberry’s Take A Chance On Me, and the Puli, GCH CH Wallbanger Fringe. 

Miss P is the country’s Number One Beagle and Number Two Hound with 17 BIS and 89 Hound Groups this season.

We start our Monday Morning Mop Up in New England’s Dog Show Central, West Springfield MA, where the Eastern Dog Club hosted the last two shows of the four day set.

Judge Jane Forsyth would name the Pekingese, GCH CH Pequest General Tso, her BIS and the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Sweet Time, her RBIS on Saturday after considering the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Celtic Thunder, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Cypress Bay’s Big Sur, the Standard Poodle, CH Hillwood Dassin Ouspenskaya, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Classical’s My Turn. 

The General is the nation’s Number One Peke and Number 17 Toy Dog with 6 BIS and 34 Toy Groups. 

CH Notorious Never Say Never 

Sunday judge Sulie Greendale-Paveza would name the Peke her RBIS and the Colored Bull Terrier, CH Notorious Never Say Never, her BIS while the Irish Setter, GCH CH Stoneypoint’s Time To Reign, the Norwegian Elkhound, GCH CH Tioka’s American Ride, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade secret, the Lhasa Apso, CH Mokiemas Pinnacle Of Georgetown CGC, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Collinswood Sparks Fly, looked on. 

The win was Bond’s first in four trips to the final ring this year. Congratulations to breeders/owners Amy & Phil Adams and handler Adam Bernardin.

Gulfport MS, on what we here in the South affectionately call the Redneck Riviera, was the site of Saturday’s Mississippi Gulf Coast Kennel Club show. The seven dogs seeking judge Ken Buxton’s favor were the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow’s Ruggedly Handsome, the Basset Hound, GCH CH By U Cal's Monkey On The Bayou, the Boxer, GCH CH Rum Runner’s Black Magic, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Tertails Loyal Knight, the King Charles English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH Novel Backroads Run For The Roses, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Kimik’s Who Dunnit, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Ha'Penny Mirimar The Fab Fawn.

GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse 

The country’s Number One Dog, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, packed up his BIS trophy from Friday’s Champlain Valley Kennel Club show and motored the 250 miles to Oaks PA to pick up the top prize at Saturday’s Valley Forge Kennel Club show. 

GCH CH Devinwood A Perfect Stranger 

We suppose judge Michael Faulkner might have chosen the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Weymouth’s En Fuego, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Tashtin’s Lookin for Trouble, the Sealyham Terrier, GCH CH Goodspice Efbe’s Know Easy Way Out, the Longhaired Chihuahua, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Barberry’s Take A Chance On Me, or his RBIS, the Rough Collie, GCH CH Devinwood A Perfect Stranger, but he didn’t. 

The win was Matisse’s 229th career BIS. Matisse has just eight days to add to his 2014 record year of 134 BIS and 172 Working Groups.

Next we go to the Pacific Northwest to check in on Poodle Man Extraordinaire, Tim Brazier. Fanciers are used to seeing Tim in the BIS ring with a Standard Poodle, most recently the white Standard bitch, GCH CH Brighton Lankeridge Encore, and the black standard bitch CH Randenn Tristar Affirmation, both group winners at Westminster Kennel Club shows. This year Tim has a BIS winning white Toy Poodle bitch, GCH CH North Well Vivian Jp Rose Queen. Tim and Rosie have been in Ridgeville WA the last three days, where they have taken the top prizes at the Willamette Toy Dog Fanciers’ Thursday and Friday shows and the Greater Clark County Kennel Club’s Saturday offering.

Challenging Rosie for BIS judge Chuck Winslow’s favor on Saturday were the Brittany, GCH CH Sanbar's Ride The Winds, the RBIS the Longhair Dachshund, GCH CH Sleepy Hollow Carolina Special MT, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Excelsia's This Side of Paradise, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Pine River's Show Me the Money, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Lakeridge Atalanta Summer in Paris, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH McMatt’s Isis of Graffiti. 

The win brings Rosie’s abbreviated 2014 record to five BIS and 16 Toy Groups. Stop by the Toy Poodle ring in Orlando to catch a glimpse of Tim with a Toy.

Many of the dogs we will see at next weekend’s AKC/Eukanuba National Championship were at the Greater Miami Dog Club’s Saturday opener. The seven that made it to judge Sonny Ambrosio’s final were the Parti Colored Cocker Spaniel, Galaksi This Is Me, the Whippet, GCH CH Karasar’s Masterpiece, the Newfoundland, GCH CH BigDogFarm’s Intenso Azzurro, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Kebulak Born To Tease, the Pug, GCH CH Chelsea’s Fantasy Dressed To Impress, the Xoloitzcuintli, GCH CH Bayshore Stonehaven Espiritu Isabella De Ivoss, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Riverside Get Over It.

Taking the top awards were the BIS, the Corgi, and the RBIS, the Xolo. It was the second BIS in ten final appearances this year for GiGi and breeder/owner/handler Deborah Shindle.
