TIBBIE BIS IN FLORIDA

Dr Edna Martin closed the four day set in Ocala FL calling the final for the Greater Gainesville Dog Fanciers Association.  Among her final seven were the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly Handsome, the Mastiff, GCH CH Goldleaf's Trouble Coming CGC, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Edbrios Russian Roulette, the Affenpinscher, CH Tamarin Tanner, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing's Tenzin, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect.

Dr Martin’s top two were the Tibbie, Tenzin, and the Kerry, Nikita.   Tenzin was 2013’s Number Three Non-Sporting Dog with seven BIS and 63 Group Ones.  Congratulations to breeder/handler Diego Garcia and breeder/owner Martha Feltenstein.

The Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek Impression De Matisse, collected his 11th BIS of the year taking the top prize at today’s Middle Peninsula Kennel Club of Virginia show in Richmond VA.

Competing for judge Elizabeth Muthard’s favor were the Irish Setter, CH Militza's My Cherie Amour, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner's International S'cess, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek Impression De Matisse, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab's Bayleigh Maid Of Honor, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotted Bliss Oreo Delight , and her RBIS, the Briard, GCH CH Déjà Vu Mia Cool as a Cucumber.  It was Matisse’s 12th trip to the final ring in 13 outings this year.  This is going to be one competitive Westminster this year.

GCH CH Karasar’s Masterpiece

The hometown Alexandria Kennel Club had the coveted Saturday spot in that Louisiana town.  The seven dogs that stayed all day to see BIS judge Donnelle Richards were the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH Ashdown’s Time to Thrill, the Whippet, GCH CH Karasar’s Masterpiece, the Mastiff, GCH CH Willow Ridges Risky Business, the Glen of Imaal Terrier, GCH CH Finnabair Ardmore Ned, the Shih Tzu, CH Zepher Monogram Maybe Marilyn, the Bulldog, GCH CH Dowats The Gladiator, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Breezy Oaks Celebrity Apprentice.

Finishing one/two were the Whippet, Juliet, and the Mastiff, Kruz.  It’s the first of the year for Juliet who had one BIS and five Hound Groups last year in limited showing.  Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Kerrie Kupper.

The temperatures in Grayslake IL are among the coldest in the country, but the competition at yesterday’s Park Shore Kennel Club show was heated.  The Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts On Fire, was judge Elliot Weiss’s Best In Show.

Judge Weiss chose Flame out of a seven that included the Labrador Retriever, Acornoaks Hide The Loot, his Reserve winner, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Cambria’s Vraiment Parfait, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the King Charles English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH LTO Prosperity, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Margaux’s Va-Voom.

It’s the first BIS of the year for Flame, who finished 2013 as the Number Four Non-Sporting Dog with nine BIS and 66 Non-Sporting Groups.  Congratulations breeder/owner Linda Campbell and handler Sarah Perchick.

Last year’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, has been taken it somewhat leisurely this month before the Westminster Kennel Club show.  Sky and handler Gabriel Rangel made an appearance in San Bernadino CA for yesterday’s Orange Empire Dog club show.

Joining Sky in judge Dorothy Collier’s final were the English Setter, GCH CH Aerden’s Pretty in Pink, the Basenji, GCH CH Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin, the Rottweiler, CH Haines Abel For Queans BN RN, her RBIS, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Victory Spencer, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Yu Kou’s Keep On Luvn U CGC, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Coventry Fly Me To The Moon.

It was the third BIS of the year for Sky, who will be one of the favorites in New York.
