COUNCIL BLUFFS KENNEL CLUB

Omaha NE was the site of this weekend’s Council Bluffs Kennel Club’s two shows.  Judge Carolyn Taylor had the Saturday final and her choice of the ASCOB Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Mardi Gras La Dolce Vita, the Borzoi, GCH CH Sylvan Silver Springbok, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Pouch Cove’s Seabrook Enough Said, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Cumhill Hellraiser, the Shih Tzu, CH Ista’s Just The Way You Are, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Evergreen’s Girls In White Dresses, and the Briard, GCH CH Deja Vu Mia Cool As A Cucumber.

She chose the StaffyBull, Ollie, as her BIS and the Newfie, Jordan, as her RBIS.  Ollie is the nation’s Number One Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the Number Terrier with two BIS and 16 Terrier Groups in 2013.

On Sunday BIS judge Carl Gene Liepmann would see Ollie, the same Cocker, Borzoi, Shih Tzu,, & Briard, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Mattiaci High Voltage At Glacier Creek, and the Lowchen, GCH CH Laser Kiji No Way No How.  Going to the head of the class was the Briard, Dill, followed by the Cocker, Dolce.  Dill is the country’s Number One Briard and Number Eight Herding Dog with six BIS and 36 Herding Groups.

Last week’s biggest points were in Columbus OH where the Central Ohio Kennel Club closed the four day set.  Judge Jordan Chamberlin’s final included the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaz'R 'N Wingfield Time Will Tell, the Scottish Deerhound, GCH CH Thistleglen Foxcliffe Vintage Spirit, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Bells Will Be Ringing, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine’s Deck the Halls, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv’s Live the Dream.

His Best was the Russell, Bosse, and his Reserve, the English Setter, Trevor.  Bosse is the nation’s Number Two Terrier and the Number Seven Dog All Breeds with 26 BIS and 94 Terrier Groups.

GREAT DANE TAKES TWO IN FLORIDA

Judge William Sebbins wrapped the set in Ocala FL, calling the final at Sunday’s Greater Ocala Dog Club show.  The seven dogs that stayed all day to see him were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Silhouette’s All Revved Up, the Saluki, GCH CH Baha Persian of Interest CD RN NA AXJ NF SC, the Great Dane, GCH CH Longo Miller n Lore’s Diamond Lil, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Major League Homerun at TX Star, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.

Best was the country’s Number Eight Dog All Breeds, the Great Dane, Scout.  Reserve was the nation’s Number Three Dog, the MinPin, Classie.  It was Scout's second big rosette of the set.  Scout, the winningest Great Dane in AKC history, has 24 BIS and 51 Working Groups this year.

The Fayetteville Kennel Club had the closer in Concord NC on Sunday and they put judge Donovan Thompson in the final ring with the American Water Spaniel, GCH CH Waterway Game Crk Hot Diggity JH, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner’s International S’cess, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon Ariel Bella Dona, the GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid Of Honor, the Italian Greyhound, CH Integra Maja Scattered Pearls, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing’s Tenzin, and the Briard, GCH CH Lightning Strike El Xargall.

Taking the last BIS of the set was the Briard, Thunder.  Grabbing the RBIS was the IG, Pearl.  Thunder has three BIS in 23 Herding Groups this year.

We last visited Roseburg OR on Friday when we told you that the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH M & M’s Fear The Beard, was judge Carolyn Herbel’s BIS.  Judge Roger Hartinger’s final at Saturday’s Rogue Valley Kennel Club featured the Field Spaniel, GCH CH Promenade’s Pay It Forward, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH Del Prado’s Bar Code, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Seacrest’s I’m Not What You Think, the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier, Lochlinear Gleanngay Cha Ching, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Kulana’s Sh-Boom, the Keeshond, GCH CH Summerwind’s Rumor Has It, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Mariel’s Harvest Moon.

Best was the Field Spaniel, Gideon.  Reserve was the Dachshund, Biff.  Gideon is the US’ Number Nine Sporting Dog with 6 BIS and 27 Sporting Groups.

The PBGV, Wilson, was back on Sunday to see BIS judge Terry Carter along with the Golden Retriever, Brookshire’s Croak N Dagger, the Samoyed, GCH CH Snoline ‘N Snowater’s On A Roll, the previously seen Wheaten, the Pekingese, GCH CH Dunkirk Imagine That, the Finnish Spitz, GCH CH DV9K9’s Red Hot Star, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Windcrest Gun Powder And Lead.

Collecting his second big rosette of the stop was Wilson, the PBGV.  Collecting the Reserve award was the Samoyed, Vegas.  Wilson and owner/handler Janice Hayes have collected four BIS and 14 Hound Groups this year.  Three of the four BIS have come this month…nothing like finishing the year with a flourish.
