GCH CH Aberdeen’s Under the Influence

Wilmot WI was the site of this weekend’s Kenosha Kennel Clubshows. Saturday’s seven finalists werethe English Setter, GCH CH Aerden’s Pretty in Pink JH, the Otterhound, GCH CHAberdeen’s Under the Influence, the Doberman Pinscher, Rolin’s No Reservations,the Smooth Fox Terrier, Groove N TaDa Hifalutin, the Long Coat Chihuahua, CH LonePine's Boston Legal D'Ouachitah, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor”to Pillowtalk, and the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, GCH CH Ponwood's Smoky.

Judge George Boulton’s top two were the Otterhound, DUI, andthe Setter, KiKi. We don’t get to seetoo many Otterhounds go Best, but DUI has done it three times this year.

DUI and the Bichon, Honor, would be the only of Saturday’sfinalists to return on Sunday to see BIS judge Richard Beauchamp. Joining them were the Chesapeake BayRetriever, CH Albridens The Show Must Go On, the Rottweiler, GCH CH GamegardI'll Have Another at Braeside, the Irish Terrier, GCH Sharob’s Commander In Chief,the Pug, GCH CH Jasez Pinkk Vulcan God If Fire, and the Briard, GCH CH LightningStrike El Xargall.

CH Albridens The Show Must Go On

Getting the BIS was the Rottweiler, Indy. The Chessie, Aries, took home the Reserve ribbon. It’s the first for one year old Indy. Congratulations to breeders L Fried,  V O'Brien, V Weaver, & Dr Bach and owner/handler Holley Eldred.

GCH CH Hundeleben Queens Amada SL

The hometown Des Moines (IA) Kennel Club spent the Labor Day weekend hosting two shows.  Patricia Kenner took the day one final, choosing her top two from the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Hollyhunt Take A Chance On Me, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Hundeleben Queens Amada SL, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon Ariel Bella Dona, the Parson Russell Terrier, Posey Canyon Classic Stungun, the Brussels Griffon, CH Fist Face A Penny For Your Thoughts, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Live the Dream.

Scrambling to the front of the line was the Dachshund, Cheese.  The black Standard Poodle, Flame, took the Reserve award.  It’s the first BIS this year for Cheese, who has been the nation’s Number One Dachshund (all varieties) for the last three years.  Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Carlos Puig, co- breeder Wayne Heikes, and owners Patrice Stephens MD & Kaileigh Gonzalez.

GCH CH Hollyhunt Take A Chance On Me

On Sunday Dr Robert Smith would see the same seven, save one, the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country Tag I’m It.  He would choose the Gordon, Winnie, as his Best, and the Doberman, Bela, as his Reserve.   It’s the second BIS in 14 final appearance for Winnie and handler Kristyn McCartney.

The Maury County Kennel Club of Tennessee and the Clarksville Kennel Club always draw top notch competition and this past week’s four shows were proof of that.  It all began on Thursday when judge Joe Gregory’s final included the Parti-Colored Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Conquest's This Is It!, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Boxer, GCH CH Hi Tech The King of Sherry Shoot Jp, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.

The Russell, Bosse, took the BIS and the MinPin, Classie, grabbed the RBIS.   Bosse is the Number Two Terrier and the Number Seven Dog All Breeds with 19 BIS and 79 Terrier Groups this year.

Bosse and Classie would return to the final ring on Friday along with the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH Ashdown's Time to Thrill, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Impression de Matisse, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing Tenzin, and the above named Puli.

Judge Gabriel Valdez’ Best In Show was the Tibetan Spaniel, Tenzin.  His Reserve Best In Show was the Saluki, Bubbles.  Tenzin is AKC’s Number One Tibetan Spaniel and Number Eight Non-Sporting Dog with three all breed Bests and 39 Non-Sporting Groups.

Judge Janet Sinclair had the big Saturday final and her pick of the previously seen Black Cocker Spaniel, Saluki, Boxer, Russell, MinPin, Tibbie, and Puli.  Finishing one/two were the Boxer King, and Bosse, the Russell.  King and handler Diego Garcia now have five BIS & 26 Working Groups to their credit this year.

Sunday’s closer found judge Norman Patton in the final ring with the now familiar Black Cocker, Saluki, Portie, Russell, MinPin, & Puli and the Lhasa Apso, Ta Sen Westgate On A High.  Classie, the MinPin, would get the set’s last big rosette.  Wishing you got extra points for a Reserve was Bosse, the Russell.  Classie is AKC’s winningest Miniature Pinscher of all times with 102 career BIS.

CLERMONT KENNEL CLUB



GCH CH Qbin’s Strictly Confidential At Enginuity

The Clermont Kennel Club chose Owensville OH as their venue this weekend, putting judge Douglas Taylor in the final ring on day one.  The seven he considered were the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, Rock Run Peroni, the Whippet, CH Shojin's Turn Me Loose, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Cambria's Vraiment Parfait, the Smooth Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Broxden Waybroke Halstan Heritage, the Havanese, GCH CH Qbin’s Strictly Confidential At Enginuity, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Litilann’s Photo Finish, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Austin Ally Van Aachen.

Finishing one/two were the Havanese and the Bouvier.  It’s the first BIS for a Havanese this year.  Congratulations to breeder Candy Gaudry, owner Arlene Liebing & owner/handler Alissa Welling.

Sunday Col Joe Purkhiser would see above named Smooth Fox, Havanese, & Standard Poodle, along with the Weimaraner, GCH  CH Doc N Camelot's Heaven Can Wait, the Black & Tan Coonhound, CH Bayaway Jersey's Due Process Of Law, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Skansen’s Holy Knight, and the  Briard, GCH CH Deja Vu Pomme Despair Came Knocking.  His top two were the Smooth Fox and the Briard.  It’s the second BIS of the year for the Smooth Fox, Roy.

GCH CH Ocoee Dsqd With A Vengeance

We start our Monday Morning Mop Up in Edensburg PA where the Altoona Area Kennel Association held two shows this weekend.   Judge James Brown had the day one final and his pick of the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Ocoee Dsqd With A Vengeance, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Snowmist's Quicksilver Speigas, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Jay-Roy Byrne 'N Hot For You, the Chinese Crested, CH Colliwood's Echoes The Clouds, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Ale Kai Hillwood Celebration, and the Pyrenean Shepherd, GCH CH La Brise Sun Bear. 

His top two were the Springer, George, and the Poodle, Hurray.   George has three BIS in 11 final appearance this year.

Sunday George, Hurray, and the aforementioned Siberian & Pyrenean Shepherd were back to plead their case with judge Mark Kennedy.  They were joined by the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Daniel Boon Pelaez, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Lamz College Road Trip, and the Pug, GCH CH Riversong’s Doc Holiday.

Taking the Best was the Pug, Doc.  Collecting the Reserve, the Beagle, Spyder.  It’s the first of the year for Doc and owner/handler Maura Esposito.  Congratulations to Maura and breeder/owner Carolyn Koch.

GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir

Judge Hiroshi Kamisato had the final at today’s Westchester Kennel Club show and he had a powerhouse seven from which to choose his top two.  They were a Labrador Retriever from the classes, Beechcroft Midnight Rose’s Baccara, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Ticket To Ride, the Maltese, GCH CH Rhapsody N Cherub’s Oh So Henry, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Winning Card, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Hearthside Riveredge Sure Is Summum.

Collecting his second BIS of the set was the Afghan, Ryder.  Picking up the RBIS was the Bichon, Bingo.  Our Dog2Watch, Ryder, has ten BIS and 33 Hound Groups this year.

GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour

They’ve packed up the RVs in Biloxi MS and are heading home after today’s Mobile Kennel Club show.  Staying to the end for Barbara Dempsey Alderman’s final were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Lochlomond's Wrapped Up In You JH, the Saluki, GCH CH  Appalachia’s Allamyrra Hajji, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Papillon, GCH CH Wildfire On The Record, the Bulldog, GCH CH Mytoys Epic Against the Win, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables Frat Boy.

Collecting her second consecutive BIS was the Giant, Dora.  The Sheltie, Brother, packed up the RBIS.  Dora will finish the weekend with 21 BIS and 51 Working Groups on the year, leaving her almost 10,000 points ahead of the Number Five Dog All Breeds, but still 15,000 points behind the Number Three Dog.
