Our show week opened on Thursday with events in three
locations east of the Mississippi. First
in Grayslake IL, the Parks Shore Kennel Club opened the four day Coool (sic) Cluster. What is really col about this cluster is that Sunday's Chain O'Lakes Kennel Club closer will be live streamed on
the club’s web site beginning at 2:30 PM CST.
We applaud the club for sharing its show with all of us they can’t be
there.

Taking the first BIS of the set was the Border Terrier,
Cinder. Collecting her third RBIS of the
young season was the GSD, Rumor. It was
the second BIS of the year for Cinder who finished 2014 as the Number One Border
Terrier and Number Terrier with six BIS and 27 Terrier Groups. Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler

We go from the Great Lakes to down on the bayou, Alexandria
LA, to be exact, where the Baton Rouge Kennel Club kicked off the Mardi Gras
Cluster, putting judge Linda More in the final ring with the Irish Setter, GCH CH Militza’s My Cherie Amour,
the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Osiris Cowboy Casanova, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH
Dezperado’s Hallelujah CA CGC, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Kelwyn’s Gm
Freestyle Flyer, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power, the Lhasa
Apso, GCH CH Sundancer Foxy Lady, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Riverside
Telltail Coco Posh.

Judge More would name the Corgi, Coco her Best and the Shih
Tzu, Rocket, her Reserve. It was the
first BIS of 2015 for Coco, who was last year’ Number One Cardigan Welsh Corgi
and Number Three Herding Dog with 13 BIS and 50 Herding Groups, including the
Group One at the 2014 Westminster Kennel Club show. Congratulations to breeders/owners Julie
& Bill Divens & Deborah Shindle, owner Dina Manship Planche, and
handler Lois DeMers.

For those that did not get enough of the Sunshine State on
the Florida Marathon, there is this week’s Gator Classic in Ocala FL. The Lake Eustis Kennel Club had Thursday spot
and judge Joy Brewster had the day one final.
Her seven hopefuls were the Golden Retriever, CH Scion Thank God I’m A
Country Boy, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Shameless, the Giant
Schnauzer, GCH CH Time is Money, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Abbeyrose Black
Diamond , the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Kaylen’s Kahlua, the Chinese Shar-Pei,
GCH CH Shine’s Deck the Halls, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Sporting Fields
Empress.

Going to the head of the line was the Crested, Kahlua, followed
by the Shar-Pei, Tinsel. It was the
first all-breed BIS for Kahlua, who made ten final appearances in 2014. We love persistence. Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Kay Peiser
and breeder/owner Virginia Dorris.
