The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship continues to be our
favorite dog show of the year. It is a
nail biting gauntlet of a week’s shows, with many surprises along the way. Tonight we saw the country’s Number One Terrier,
the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, take the top prize at the
nation’s biggest dog show.
Judge Ron Menaker’s RBIS was the Number One Dog All Breeds,
the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse. Rounding out judge Ron Menaker’s final were
the Field Spaniel, GCH CH Promenade Pay It Forward, the Bloodhound, GCH CH
Flessner’s International S’Cess, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power,
the Standard Poodle, CH Afterglow Maverick Sabre, and the Old English Sheepdog,
GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect.
Charlie finishes the year as the Number Five Dog All Breeds
with 32 BIS and 113 Terrier Groups to his credit. Our congratulations to breeders/owners Eugene
Z Zaphiris & Matthew H Stander, owner Victor Malzoni Jr, and handler Larry Cornelius.
