Whom to Watch at Westminster in the Toy Group?  The last two Westminster BIS winners came from the Toy Group and this year’s entry will be outstanding again.

Last year’s Number Three Dog All Breeds and Number One Toy, The Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, is the top winning MinPin in history, collecting 64 BIS and 122 Toy Groups in 2013.  Classie was bred by Carole A Mohr-Rio and is owned by Leah Monte & Armando Angelbello.

GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded

Classie is in hot pursuit of the all-time record for a Toy Dog, currently held by the Pekingese, CH Yakee If Only.  That Peke was shown by David Fitzpatrick, who was the BIS winner in 2012 with his Peke, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy.  David will have another of his Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, at this year’s Westminster.  Rodger was 2013’s Number Three Toy with 13 BIS and 65 Toy Groups, including the Toy Group at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.  This year Rodger has one BIS and three Toy Group.   Rodger was bred by Albert Easdon and is owned by Sandra M Middlebrooks & David Fitzpatrick

GCH CH Smash Jp Beauty & the Beat

One of the new faces to look for this year is the latest Toy Poodle from the Japanese Smash Kennels, GCH CH Smash Jp Beauty & the Beat (sic).  Beauty was the Group Two winner at the AENC ahead of the MinPin, Classie, and has one BIS and eight Toy Groups this year.  Beauty was bred by Yukiko Omura, owned by Ron Scott & Debbie Burke, and handled by Kaz Hosaka.

GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor

Toy Group judge Keke Kahn has twice given the Pug, GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor, a Group One during the last year.  Rufus was 2013’s Number Two Toy with ten BIS and 39 Toy Groups and has one BIS and five Group One this year, including all three Toy Groups in Atlanta this past week.  Rufus is owner handled by Linda Rowell.  Linda co-owns Rufus with John Rowell and Rufus’ breeders, Phillip & Carolyn Fisher.

Next, the Non-Sporting Group.
