Friday was round two of this weekend’s heavyweight bout in Chicago.  Once again our Number One Dog and Number Two Dog, the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect, and the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreeek’s Impression de Matisse, faced off, this time in the Blackhawk Kennel Club final.  Once gain the outcome was the Portie BIS, the OES RBIS.

Judge Edd Bivin also considered the English Springer Spaniel, GCH  CH Telltale American Ride, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Ticket To Ride, the Shih Tzu, CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power, and the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine’s Deck the Halls.

Matisse’s 17th BIS of the year will put him in a virtual tie with the OES, Swagger, for Number One Dog.  Matisse has the built in advantage of collecting far more points in the Working Group than Swagger does in the Herding Group.  The big points, and the prestigious titles, at today’s and tomorrow’s International Kennel Club of Chicago’s shows will determine who has the title next week.  We will be the first to tell you who that is.
