We were had just finished our sophomore year of college in August of 1969 when one of the major milestones of our times, the Woodstock Music & Art Fair, happened ( a generational term). In 1976 we would move to the San Francisco Bay Area, the Mecca of the Woodstock children. Eventually we would move to Across the Bay to the town of Martinez CA. Just a few minutes from Martinez, on the north edge of the Bay, is Vallejo, site of this week’s four show “Woofstock” cluster, one of the best times that can be had in the dog show world.
The Lake County Kennel Club Of Northern California opened the canine love-in and Shirley Limoges had the first final of the set. The seven groovy dogs that she saw were the Irish setter, GCH CH Northwind’s First Reign, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Blossomhill Hello Dolly, the Boxer, GCH CH Rand G’s Mystical Dancer, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Pomeranian, GCH CH CR’s Chase What Matters, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Lebull’s New Hope Wooly Bully, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Riverside Crush Zone.
Her Best was the country’s Number One Terrier, the Wire Fox, Sky. It’s the tenth this year for the nation’s Number Nine Dog All Breeds.
