  25. Billy-
Who took wires? I wasn't even aware there was another "great" wire out there right now. Seems like the breed has endured a dry spell for the last couple of years.

      Delete
    3. My fingers are crossed for Scarlett, although I wouldn't mind seeing the Dobie win.

      Delete
    4. I like Fifi too. Tough group though. Is Diego okay after his slip? No cable, so this is as close as I get this year!

    ReplyDelete
  39. That Akita is gorgeous

  40. Watched the poodles breed video on line late last night. Seems totally unfair to make those dogs try and "move" in a ring so small. Anybody else have the same complaint? Will the pier site be better?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Both the ring size & the floor they used this year were complaints

      Delete
    2. Diego Garcia, handler of the Number One Working Dog, the Boxer, Scarlett, took a nasty fall after slipping on the carpeting in the breed ring

      Delete
    3. Not sure if it was the "difference maker" but Taffe's dog really seemed to struggle with the dimensions and "getting going".

      Delete
  41. Grass Vallley Guy, I agree, none of the big dogs can move in those little rings. I sure hope th enew place will have larger rings.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Emily sure changes the final lineup. I watched the SFT breed judging online today. They deserved to win. Did a great job.

    ReplyDelete
  43. How old is Emily? Still a young dog relatively speaking...right?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Wasn't the spaniel that won a couple of years ago 7+.

      Delete
    2. wow! I had no idea he was that old? How long was he retired? Do you happen to recall? I assume that is the oldest winner by far.....right? Probably even for a group.

      Delete
    3. What's great about Adam and Jamie is that they whelped and raised Emily's litter. They are just devoted to the Irish Setter

  44. The the question of the night is...What will happen first the chigaco cubs winning the world series or a Samoyed winning best in show at Westminster :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. What would the ten be? I thought this was a done deal a few years ago?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There would. Be a nordic breed group, sight hounds & scent hounds would be separated! And the sporting group would be separated into two groups

  56. I showed a Beardie special in Working when there were 30+ breeds, before they split it into Working and Herding. What a challenge to keep a laid-back dog interested for an hour or so! They were a lot less coaty then, too, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Did Fifi win? Ahhhh, I HATE not seeing it live!

    ReplyDelete
  58. FiFi is breeder/owner handled by Jocelyn Mullins

    ReplyDelete
  59. Jocelyn sent me. An email at 5:00 AM she was so nervous before the breed judging

    ReplyDelete
  69. The Kerry Blue could be the spoiler

    ReplyDelete
  70. Well the BIS lineup sure has a good group, and no doubt the winner from this one will be a really good dog too.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Anything can happen ... It's like MCKC. There's almost no predicting it.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Oh well! Great job pop pops! Figured the Kerry and Bill would be tough. Great dogs all around!

    ReplyDelete

  85. They're breaking down the stanchions with the names

    ReplyDelete
  86. Kerry won? Adam second? Still not up on WKC site

    ReplyDelete
  87. I say they go with nostalgia and send Jimmy Moses off with another big win.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Lit will depend on how they show, but the German Shepherd or the Peke

    ReplyDelete

  92. Got home just in time to see the terrier group short list - what a nice group! The Kerry is very nice - wow what a strong group for BIS! I of course am very prejudice - dobermans are my breed - so Fifi has my first vote!
All of them are very nice dogs - I don't think the judge can go wrong no matter what!
    Here we go!

    ReplyDelete
  93. That's what they said about Jimmy at AKC... He's always the guy to beat tho. I think Fifi or

    ReplyDelete
  94. The dogs are calm in the waiting area, but the handlers are sweating bullets!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Another PETA protestor was just escorted out

    ReplyDelete
  96. These idiots, never get it.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I've been rooting for Capi all year. Been there for a couple of Fifi's BIS wins. Emily is lovely- true star quality. Seen Chelsey's wins & Bill & Taffe are my handlers.great choices.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Everyone of these dogs have asked for the win

    ReplyDelete
  99. Makes it a tuff choice.

    ReplyDelete
  100. How does a Peke ask for the win? I mean.... Really? :-)

    ReplyDelete
  101. I'd love to see Jimmy Moses win for old times sake, but I think Fifi or Chelsey.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Love the setter but u can't go wrong!

    ReplyDelete
  103. The Peke!, had 50 BIS last year, but none like this

    ReplyDelete
  104. Wow. I heard she had the peke in a group not too long ago and gave him 3rd.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well, according to AKC's site, she's not approved for the Toy Group, so that's not true.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Congrats to the Peke - they all looked BEAUTIFUL - what a great line up! All of them deserved to be there . . . onward to the rest of the year - until next year - Thank you Westminster Kennel Club for making every year exciting and thanks Billy for this venue - as always - Wonderful!

    ReplyDelete
  107. Congrats to David and Malachy!! Thanks for the forum and keeping us updated Billy!

    1. Yes, congrats to David and co, nice people. But that sure wouldn't have been my choice!

      Delete
  108. Thanks, Billy. You've made it so much easier to follow our dogs. I don't know how people survived before you. Not knowing kills me. Have a great year.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Congrats to david, always the gentleman Thank god it wasn't that crippled GSD or it would have been another pat on the back for ruining what was a tremendous, functional breed.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Next year there will be a reserve Best in Show--that will be interesting; "almost" winning Westminster

    ReplyDelete
  111. And the trolls come out again.

    ReplyDelete
  112. So happy for David, Malachy and all their connections. Emily made my heart sing! The Dobe delivered the goods. Great line up.
