SAN ANTONIO TX DAY ONE

GCH CH Quiche's Grand Finale

More than 1400 dogs braved the Texas heat to compete at yesterday’s Bexar County Kennel Club show in San Antonio TX.

The seven who made it to Edd Bivin’s final were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Northgate's As You Like It, the Rottweiler, GCH CH  Chancellor High Flyin' Gladiator, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Devon Lady Simper Fi, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Kelaury Good Luck From We-Syng, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Quiche's Grand Finale.

BIS at the opener in San Antonio was the three year old Bouvier.  It’s the first AKC BIS for the Canadian born dog, who was this year’s breed winner at the Westminster Kennel Club show.  Congratulations to breeders Louise and Elaine Paquette and owners Daniel & Julianna Garrison & Elaine Paquette.

  3. It's not that it matters who shows, but I find it interesting. Does it matter who owns the dog?

  6. Oh grow up people.Everyone knows that majority of the time at the big shows when a nationally ranked dog wins "someone" is behind the lead.

  7. Yeah and these "someone's" usually present, train and groom a dog exceptional well, that is why they are in the business. It is a team effort. These dogs don't groom, condition and run themselves around the ring. The dog and the handler should both be commended on a nice win.

  8. Interesting, there is the same owner for several of the top winning dogs. That's because they back them financially. They never even meet up with the dog and can be from another country.
