GCH CH Slyfox Sneak’s A Peek
The Portland (OR) Kennel Club’s two shows, the only ones west of the Rockies this weekend, drew over 4000 entries this weekend.
Saturday the seven asking Virginia Lynne for all those points were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Tender Is The Night, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Cabaret Come Chase The Dream, the Newfoundland, GCH CH BigDogFarm Oh My Baby Huey, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Slyfox Sneak’s A Peek, the Pomeranian, GCH CH CR’s Simply Irresistible, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, and the Australian Cattle Dog, GCH CH Carben Copy’s If The Shoe Fits.
She chose the nation’s Number One Terrier, the Smooth Fox, Adam, as her best. Adam and handler Eddie Boyes have been winning big ones all year. This win, their twelfth of the year, will have them knocking on the door of the Top Ten.
CH Eskai’s Sir Kasper
Adam and fellow Saturday finalists, the Standard Poodle, & Cattle Dog were back of Sunday to see BIS judge Donavon Thompson. Joining them were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Darkover Don’t Dream It’s Over, the Redbone Coonhound, CH Eskai’s Sir Kasper, the Doberman Pinscher, Catawaba’s Take No Prisoners CD, and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Malarkey Miles of Aisles.
Grabbing the big rosettes and the big points was the Coonhound, Kasper. Kasper becomes the winningest Redbone in the US and the only of his breed to win a BIS this year. Congratulations to breeder Michael Coombs and owner Stephen Hendrix.
I believe your information is incorrect. Kasper is NOT the most winning Redbone in history. The most winning in history would be the Gch Ch GWCH CCh Sidearm Jungle King Mufasa. He has almost 70 group placements and 9 group 1's. He is the leading one, he was first champion and first grand champion and leads the breed points. Sir Kasper has less than a dozen breed points.Mufasa also won breed at Eukanuba last year in California.

ReplyDeleteSorry to disappoint you Billy but this redbone is not the winningest redbone in the breed. There is another dog in the southeast that has over 70 group placements, is #1 in breed points, was the 1st redbone champion, and the 1st to win a group. I'm not trying to take anything away from the BIS of this dog, that's a great honor, but when you make a statement saying "the winningest redbone" you should take all wins into consideration.
ReplyDeleteOne, I never accept the argument that the dog with the most breed points is the top dog. in the less numerous breeds one specialty win can skew an entire year's breed points.
ReplyDeleteTwo, Kasper had not only the BIS, but more hound groups this year than any other Redbone. Both I and Dog News have Kasper as the Number One Redbone Coonhound so far THIS YEAR.
