Carmel's Iconic Lone Cypress

We are gearing up for another big weekend of all breed shows and multiple clusters.  If you are in the Northeast, you can opt to head for Tunbridge VT for the Woodstock Dog Club’s & the Green Mountain Dog Club’s four shows or do the two by two thing with Thursday/Friday in Riverhead NY with the hometown Riverhead Kennel Club & Saturday/Sunday in Morristown NJ with the Twin Brooks Kennel Club.

There are traditional two day weekends in the Mid-Atlantic with the Shawnee Kennel Club‘s shows in Woodstock VA and in the Sunshine State with the Jupiter-Tequesta Dog Club‘s two shows in West Palm Beach FL.

Great Lakes Hound enthusiasts should not miss the Cuyahoga Valley Hound Association Thursday warm up in Madison OH followed by three all breed shows courtesy of the Grand River Kennel Club, the Ashtabula Kennel Club, & the Grand River Kennel Club.   There are also three in Marshall MI with the Holland Michigan Kennel Club & the Battle Creek Kennel Club, and three in Belvidere IL with the Blackhawk Kennel Club & the Kishwaukee Kennel Club.  The Duluth Kennel Club will do four all by themselves in their Minnesota hometown.

The rest of the country will not have as many choices, but virtually every section of the nation has at least one show offered.  Here in the South we will be at the Greater Shelby Kennel Club’s two shows in Southaven MS, just across the state line from Memphis.  Great Plains fanciers will be in Omaha NE for the Nebraska Kennel Club’s weekend.  Texans are already in San Antonio for today’s Alamo Area Toy Dog Club.  The Bexar County Kennel Club & the Comal County Kennel Club will follow with four all breed shows.

We do have shows in the Rocky Mountain Time Zone where the Roaring Fork Kennel Club will give us two in Eagle CO.   West of the Rockies your options are the Inland Empire Kennel Association’s two in Coeur D’Alene ID or the Del Monte Kennel Club’s two in the always beautiful Carmel CA.

It’s another great week to visit an AKC dog show.  Why are you waiting?

  1. Love the website, are you going to post Ventura results from last weekend?

  2. Also: four shows starting Thursday in Duluth, Minnesota.

  3. Sorry Billy, the iconic "lone pine" is actually the the "lone cypress".
