GETTING DOWN IN DELAWARE

CH Shadagee Caught Red Handed

Many of the country’s top dogs were in Bear DE this weekend.  We told you about the excitement on Friday.  Here’s the rest of the fun.  On Saturday, Carol Reisman had the best seven of over 1300 dogs to choose a BIS for the Wilmington Kennel Club.  They were the Irish Setter, CH Shadagee’s Caught Red Handed, the Scottish Deerhound, CH Foxcliff Hickory Wind, the Boxer, CH Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream, the Sealyham Terrier, CH Efbe’s Easy Money, Friday’s BIS winner, the Affenpinscher, CH Banana Joe Van Tanikazari, the Standard Poodle, CH Unique Jewel Of The Crown, and the Belgian Tervuren, Char-Ma’s Chosen One.    The white Standard Poodle, Sparkle, was one of the almost 300 big Poodles competing at this week’s Poodle Club of America National Specialty.  She didn’t get the BISS, but she does go home with the all breed BIS.  Congratulations to breeders Gail S Wolaniuk & Joan E McFadden and owners Kathleen Stockman, Diane Keeler & Gail Wolaniuk.

Sunday, the Penn Treaty Kennel Club and Anella Cooper took over.  Returning for another try for the BIS were the Irish Setter, the Boxer, the Affenpinscher, & the Standard Poodle.  They were joined by the Borzoi, CH Vento Danza Independence, the Kerry Blue Terrier, Cranmoss Finbar Of Colinca, and the Puli, Mi Tonka As Good As It Gets.  Best went to AKC’s Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Irish Setter, Emily.  Emily & handler Adam Bernardin now have eleven big all breed BIS.  Suddenly the race for number one gets more interesting.
