No surprise Terry Stacy giving BIS to Jorge Olivera.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Terry Stacy connected to the Affen, Taser, that Jorge has been campaigning for the last few years?
ReplyDeleteIsn't there an AKC rule that precludes Mr. Olivera from showing under Mr. Stacy? After all he was the handler for Taser, the multiple BIS winning Affenpinscher who was bred by Terry Stacy.

ReplyDeleteAfter over 40 years in the fancy, I have the utmost respect for the professionals in our sport, both judges and handlers. If a handler were to avoid every judge that he has some connection to, he/she would have very few shows to chose from. If a judge were to pass over every handler they had some connection to there would be a dramatic decrease in entries. One should consider that it might be possible that the judge chose the best dog in his ring yesterday. This BIS winner is a top winner who has done very well under multiple judges in the past. No one should be surprised that a handler as accomplished as Mr Olivera could put another BIS on him.
For the record, there is no AKC rule that prohibits a handler from showing another dog under a breeder/judge who had bred a dog the handler showed previously. The only way to prevent that from happening is to exclude all breeders from the judging ranks, not something any sane person would propose. Finally, I encourage comments, but I would have liked the above comments to be signed by their authors. If you are going to make such allegations, put your name with them.
My friend judges her own breed she can judge a dog that she bred as long as it has a diffrent owner for at least 2 years!
ReplyDeleteMr. Wheeler... I am in total agreement with your statement that if you are going to post a comment, include your name. Are you not including your name because you are ashamed of what you are stating? If so, perhaps it is best left unsaid. My momma always said, "if you haven't anything nice to say, it is best not to say anything."
ReplyDeleteThank you for sticking up for the nature of the sport Mr. Wheeler, and for dedicated handlers.
