BACK2BACK BIS IN FL & OH



GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare

Two more dogs followed their Saturday BIS performances with another on Sunday.  The nation’s Number Three Dog All Breeds, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, was in West Palm Beach where she took both BIS at the Jupiter-Tequesta Dog Club shows.  As we told you here Classie was judge Thomas Daniels Best on Saturday. 

GCH CH Raintree Erinwood Dixie For Heaven's Sake

Sunday Classie impressed judge Dan Cline more than did the Great Dane, GCH CH Raintree Erinwood Dixie For Heaven's Sake, who impressed him more than did the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Fieldstone Carousel Hell's Kitchen, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Hunter's Ridge Sure Shot By Kwetu, the Great Dane, GCH CH Raintree Erinwood Dixie For Heaven's Sake, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Goodtime Charlie, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog's Major League Homerun At TX Star, or the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Jesstar Nirvana.  Classie now has 36 BIS in 66 final appearances, as she continues to gain on the Number Two Dog All Breeds.

The Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Sahireab Bayleigh Maid of Honor, got her two big rosettes at the Ashtabula Kennel Club and the Grand River Kennel Club shows in Madison OH this weekend.  You can read our report on Saturday’s show here.

Sunday Jennie and handler Luis Abreu were joined in David Miller’s final by the Weimaraner, CH Doc N' Camelot's Heaven Can Wait, the Treeing Walker Coonhound, GCH CH Alexanders Gold Rush Xcetera, the RBIS, the Saint Bernard, GCH CH Jamelle’s Aristocrat v Elba, the Blenheim & Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, the Keeshond, Nightwind's Holy Smoke, and the Pyrenean Shepherd, CH La Brise Renardette.  Jennie is AKC’s Number Three Terrier with ten BIS and 34 Terrier Groups.

We told you that the Wire Fox Terrier, CH Crispy Legacy, was BIS and Saturday’s Shawnee Kennel Club show in Woodstock VA.  We did not tell you that he was also the BIS at Sunday’s SKC show.

Joining Sparky and handler Ernesto Lara in Lynne Schnazle’s final were the English Springer Spaniel, CH Cerise Sentinel, the Greyhound, CH Grandcru Phelps Insignia, the Boxer, GCH CH Hi-Tech The King Of Sherry Shoot Jp, her RBIS, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Sakura, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing Tenzin, and the Belgian Malinois, GCH CH Broadcreek's Marcus Junis Brutus.  The win brings Sparky’s 2013 record to seven BIS and 11 Terrier Groups.

Tomorrow we get on a plane for Houston and start our ringside coverage of the Reliant Series of Dog Shows, one of the biggest weeks of our sport.  Today we will chase down the results from last weekend’s shows.  We go first to Morristown NJ where the Twin Brooks Kennel Club held two shows on Sunday and Monday.

Wendy Wilhauck had the day one final and her pick of the German Shorthair Pointer, Sunhouse Time Will Tell, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Samoyed, GCH CH McMagic's Candied Ham Of Pebbles Run, the Irish Terrier, GCH CH Windeire Aurora Borealis, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, the French Bulldog, CH Rockydell Hotschott Sirius Dancer, and the Briard, GCH CH Deja Vu Mia Cool As A Cucumber.

Her top two were the Sammie, Candy, and the Briard, Dill.  Candy is the country’s Number One Samoyed and the Number Seven Working Dog with four BIS in 14 final appearances this year.

Candy, Dill, the Foxhound, Jewel, the Peke, Rodger, and the Frenchie, Maksim, were all back on Monday for judge Barbara Wood’s final.   Joining them were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Crimsonacre Wind Chime, and the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Ticket To Ride.  Going one/two were the Jewel and Candie.  Jewel is holding down the Number Six spot in the all breed rankings with 22 BIS and 64 Hound Groups.

CALIFORNIA, WASHINGTON, & IDAHO

We continue our weekend coverage with a trip to the west coast.  First up is beautiful Carmel CA where the Del Monte Kennel Club spent two days.  On Saturday judge Anne Katona chose her top two from the Pointer, GCH CH Penpoint King Arthur, the Pharaoh Hound, CH Farao Anubis Ramiro, the Samoyed, GCH CH Glacier's Goddess of Fire, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Fortune In My Eyes, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Crizwood Undeniable, the Keeshond, GCH CH Summerwind's Rumor Has It, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Woodstock’s Belle Starr.

She chose the Pointer, King, as her Best and the Keeshond, RuRu, as her Reserve.  It’s the first for King.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Lee Ann Stagg and owner/handler Kimberly Bakker.

Only RuRu and the Australian Shepherd, Belle, would be back on Sunday for judge Allen Pepper’s final.  They would be joined by the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Segre's Brown Derby BN RA OA OAJ, the Ibizan Hound, GCH CH Hare Hill’s Ace in the Hole, the Akita, GCH CH Ruthdale’s Candy from a Baby, the Colored Bull Terrier, GCH CH Soquel Millenium Seafarer, and the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Paragons Sharp Dressed Man At Greengates.

Judge Pepper would like the two returning dogs, giving the Aussie, Belle, the BIS, and the Keeshond, RuRu, the RBIS.  It’s also Belle’s first BIS.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Linda Buell and handler Megan Hof.

Up in Chehalis WA the Timberland Valley Dog Fanciers Association was set up for the weekend.  The seven dogs that stayed all day to see BIS judge Helene Nietsch were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Rush Hill's Drama'geddon JH, the Smooth Dachshund, GCH CH Spellbound's You Go First, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon’s Arsenal, the Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Terrywood MVP, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Sunojo's Red Hot Chinni Pepper, the Miniature Poodle, The Bond Girl Of Heatherly, and the Belgian Tervuren,GCH CH Sky Acres Maximum Altitude.

The two grabbing the top awards were the Golden, Willis, and the Dachshund, Blue.  It’s the fifth BIS of the year for Willis and breeder/owner/handler Tonya Struble.

Debra Thornton had Sunday’s final and all new seven from which to choose her winners.  They  were the English Setter, GCH CH Set'r Ridge Imagine The Future, the Black & Tan Coonhound, GCH CH Windbourne HD Ranch King Of The Road, the Mastiff, CH Beowulf’s Walkin On Sunshine, the Wheaten Terrier, GCH CH Doubloon’s Extreme Play, the Havanese, CH Askin Bidin' My Time, the Boston Terrier, Naughty Norteno’s Clik Clik Bang, and gthe Bearded Collie, GCH CH Wigglesworth Thriller.

Heading to the front of the line were the Coonhound, Roy, and the Mastiff, Malibu.  Roy is the country’s Number One Black & Tan Coonhound and Number Ten Hound with five BIS and 14 Hound Groups.

Meanwhile another Washington state resident was in Coeur d’Alene ID.  The Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, took home both the BIS from the Inland Empire Kennel Association’s two shows.   Saturday Ally impressed judge Gay Dunlap more than did the Pekingese, GCH CH Dunkirk Center Stage, who impressed her more than did the Weimeraner, GCH CH  Diamond MK the Eagle Has Landed, the Saluki, GCH CH Shadaglen Salish As Time Goz By, the Tibetan Mastiff, GCH CH Dreamcatcher Major Victory of Loki, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Pineriver's Show Me The Money, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH  Dragonjoy New Girl in Town.

Five of Saturday’s finalists would return for Jacqueline Stacy’s final on Sunday.  They were joined by the Greyhound, Wildwood Helios Clark Gable, and the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Arundel Gotta Get to Hapi Mtn.  However, judge Stacy would see it the same as judge Dunlap, placing Ally first and the Peke, Sullivan.   Ally is the country’s Number One Standard Poodle and Number One Non-Sporting Dog with 16 BIS and 36 Non-Sporting Groups this year.  Ally started the week as the Number Ten Dog All Breeds.  These two BIS should move her up at least one spot.

MONDAY MORNING MOP UP

We start our Monday Morning Mop Up with a report on the whereabouts of our Number One Dog All Breeds, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll  Painting the Sky.  As we told you here earlier Sky opened the four day set in San Antonio TX by taking the Thursday’s Bexal County Kennel Club show and then followed with a Terrier Group One at Friday’s Comal County Kennel Club show.

Sky would return to the final ring on Saturday to see BIS judge Luis Silva.  Joining them at the BCKC’s day two show were the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration with Traddles, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon Ariel Bella Dona, the Papillon, GCH CH Involvo The King of Pop, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Winning Card, and the German Shepherd Dog, Neo’s Ego V Pearl.

Going one/two were the Doberman, Bella, and the Clumber, Seymour.  It was the second consecutive BIS for Bella and handler Esteban Farias and their second of the year.

Bella, Sky, and the Bichon, Bingo, would all be back for Sunday’s CCKC closer.  Rounding out Arley Hussin’s final were the Pointer, GCH CH Chesterhope State of T Art, the Pharoah Hound, GCH CH Osiris Cowboy Casanova, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Krissy’s Savy Jasper, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Stonepillar’s Steel Blu.

He would choose the Pointer, Miley, and the Pharaoh Hound, Farley, handled by brothers Clint and Brian Livingston, as his Best and Reserve.  Chalk that up as Miley’s ninth BIS of the year.
