The German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH, had so much fun taking the BIS at Saturday’s Greater Murfreesboro Kennel Club in their Tennessee hometown that he did it all over on Sunday.

This time it was Arley Hussin’s final and his fellow finalists were the Rhodesian Ridgeback, Camelot's Ventura Adventure, the Great Dane, GCH CH DRD’s The Revelation, the Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Connacht A Ha'Penny Will Do, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Bells Will Be Ringing, the RBIS, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder.   Truman’s 2012 record now stands at eight BIS and 38 Sporting Groups.

JACKSONVILLE DFA DAY TWO

GCH CH Bo-Bett Speed Demon

As summer fades the Florida shows rise and the Jacksonville Dog Fanciers Association decided to do two shows this weekend in Ocala FL.  Read about day one here.  On Sunday Larry Sinclair finished up the day with the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, GCH CH Chesacola Hardwood Baltimore Raven, the Whippet, GCH CH Bo-Bett Speed Demon, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Starrdogs Midnight Rambler, the Australian Terrier, GCH CH Kambara’s Zebulon, the Pug, GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Bayou’s The Warrior, the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, CH Bluegrass Ivy League Z White Star.

 The Frenchie, Griffin, grabbed the RBIS while the Whippet, Demon, became the third of his breed to win a BIS this weekend.  Demon and handler Justin Smithey have two BIS this year in 18 final appearances. 

OLD DOMINION KC OF NOVA

The Old Dominion Kennel Club of Northern Virginia had the closer this weekend in Millwood VA and they asked Keke Khan to choose her top two.  Her options were the Welsh Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Statesman's Kentucky Derby, the English Foxhound, GCH CH Sunup's Parliament, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, GCH CH Painted Mtn Oliver Twist Of Fate, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Surrey Sugar Baby, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Whisperwood’s Wild Horse.

Taking home the stop’s last prizes were the Poodle, Sugar Baby, who took the Reserve, and the Affenpinscher, Joey, with the Best In Show.  Joey is the nation’s Number One Affenpinscher, Number One Toy Dog, and Number Five Dog All Breeds with 31 BIS this year.

FREEPORT IL DAY TWO

GCH CH Stonehill Great Escape

One of the BACK2BACK BIS performances we had this weekend was from one of the newest dogs on the scene, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Stonehill Great Escape.  Stevie and owner/handler Patricia Holzkopf took home both of the big rosettes from the Rockford-Freeport Illinois Kennel Club’s two shows in Freeport IL.  You can read about the details of day one here.

Joining Stevie and Pat on Sunday in Richard Miller’s final were the American Water Spaniel, GCH CH Waterway Game Crk Hot Diggity JH, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Windfall, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Nightline Viking At Tanglewood, the RBIS, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Cumhil Hellraiser, the French Bulldog, CH Otto's Elway, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Kosmar Striking Back of Bridgelady.  All three of Stevie’s BIS have come in the last two weeks.

There was another set of shows in New York this past week.  The second was one of those split venue clusters so popular in the Northeast.  Sunday’s Westbury Kennel Association show was in Oyster Bay NY with Donald Sturz Jr in the final ring.   

The seven he saw were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Skypoint's Our River Runs Free, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Bahama Sands, the Akita, GCH CH Sondaisa Tough Act To Follow Stardust, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Larkspur Acadia Save Me A Spot, the Papillon, CH Betlen Riegel Blessed Is The Reign, the Bichon Frise, CH Saks Winning Card, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Sporting Field Heiress HSAs.

Finishing one/two were the Whippet, Tawny, and the Lakeland, Spot.  Tawny is the nation’s Number One Whippet and Number Six Hound with nine BIS and 48 Hound Groups.
