FRIDAY IN WINSTON-SALEM NC

The Greater Hickory Kennel Club opened the three show set in Winston-Salem NC today, asking judge Patti Widick Neale to take the final ring. Her seven hopefuls were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Legacy Random Titleist, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Skansen's Havannah, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsand's Billie Jean, the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country's Tag I'm It, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Milledals Alisa At Peace Valley, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsey Turvey. 

GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded 

Going to the head of the line was the Puli, Charlotte, followed by the Afghan, Matrix. Charlotte is the Number Two Herding Dog this year with 15 BIS and 66 Group Firsts.

THURSDAY IN WHEATON IL

GCH CH Tashtin’s Lookin for Trouble 

With just two weekends left in the show season, our top dogs are out scouring the nation, attempting to add a few more points to their year end tallly. Many were in Wheaton IL for Thursday’s Starved Rock Kennel Club show. BIS judge would see the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Tashtin’s Lookin for Trouble, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Rolin’s No Reservations, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Amchara Roc Ur World, the Pug, GCH CH Careva’s Boodelicious, the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Ken’s Always Gets The Last Laugh, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgable’s the Frat Boy.

He would name the Beagle Miss P his Best and the Springer, Randy, his Reserve. Miss P is the nation’s Number Two Hound with 16 BIS and 86 Hound Groups in 2014.

DAY ONE IN WEST SPRINGFIELD MA

The Number One Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, added another BIS to his record setting year, taking the top prize at today’s Champlain Valley Kennel Club show in West Springfield MA.

Joining Matisse in judge Elliot Weiss’ final were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Celtic Thunder, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Raquel Welch of Malabo APD, the Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Stonebridge Just a Little Bit Better, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Sonnus Filho (Sanchez), judge Weiss’ RBIS, the Standard Poodle, CH Hillwood Dassin Ouspenskaya, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Classical’s My Turn. The win brings Matisse career BIS record to 227 and his 2014 record to 132 BIS and 170 Working Groups.

MONDAY IN YUMA AZ

The Imperial Valley Kennel Club closed the week’s action with their Monday outing in Yuma AZ. BIS judge Barbara Dempsey-Alderman’s stellar seven were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH M&M’s Fear the Beard, the Boxer, GCH CH HiJinx This is How I Roll, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Dytona VIP, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Hitimes What the Inferno, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Del Zarzoso Salvame From Afterglow, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect.

Her top two were the OES, Swagger, and the Standard Poodle, Dino. It was the third of the stop and the 88th BIS in 133 trips to the final ring this year. The win brings Swagger’s career BIS total to 112, the most by an Old English Sheepdog ever.

MONDAY IN SAVANNAH GA

The show week extended into Monday for fanciers at the Beaufort Kennel Club’s show in Savannah GA. Judge chose her top two from the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Ashdown’s Time to Thrill, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Shameless, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Highlander's Rumour Has It, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid of Honor, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Starfire's Spank Me Hard Call Me Crazy, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.

They were the Standard Poodle, Flame, and the Pom, Spanky. Flame is the nation’s Number One Non-Sporting Dog and Number Three Dog All Breeds with 47 BIS and 120 Group Firsts.

GCH CH Promenade Pay It Forward 

The Field Spaniel, GCH CH Promenade Pay It Forward, joined this weekend’s back2back BIS bandwagon, taking Sunday’s Camelia Captial Kennel Club Best In Show in Woodland CA.

Judge Leonard Reppond also considered the Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eenie Meenie Miney Moe, the Akita, GCH CH Mojo's Continuation Of A Myth, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Cambria’s Kid n Play, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Hilltop’s GQ Cover Boy, the RBIS, the Keeshond, GCH CH Skyline’s Unit Of Measure, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Wind Spirit Rod’s Amazing Grace. It was the 15th BIS in 53 trips to the final ring this year for the nation’s Number Three Sporting Dog.

OES REPEATS IN ARIZONA

GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect 

The country’s Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect, became the third dog to post back2back BIS this weekend, taking Sunday’s top prize at the Imperial Valley Kennel Club show in Yuma AZ.

 Challenging Swagger for the win were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Foxboro N Shardust Authentic, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH M&M's Fear The Beard, the RBIS, the Boxer, GCH CH Hijinx This Is How I Roll, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Max-Well’s Cradle Robber, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Hitimes What the Inferno, and the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Starlight’s Lady In Waiting.  

Swagger is the winningest Old English Sheepdog in AKC history with 111 career BIS. This year Swagger has 87 BIS and 132 Herding groups.

SUNDAY IN CONROE TX

GCH CH Derby’s Toast with Gusto 

Judge Teddy McDowell was in Conroe TX Sunday to choose a BIS and RBIS for the hometown kennel club. Her seven options were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Ehrenvogel Achy Breaky Heart, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, GCH CH Derby’s Toast with Gusto, the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CH Tullybloom’s Classified Credentials, the Papillon, GCH CH InVolo The King of Pop, the Bulldog, GCH CH Dowats The Gladiator, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Moon River. 

GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded 

Her Best was the Greater Swiss, Gus, and her Reserve, the Afghan, Matrix. Gus is the nation’s Number One Greater Swiss Mountain Dog with eight BIS and 33 Working Groups in 2014.

The Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, and the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner’s International S’cess, made it back2back BIS and RBIS, taking the top prizes at Sunday’s Ingham County Kennel Club show in East Lansing MI.

Rounding out judge Larry Sinclair’s final were the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Nexus Total Eclipse, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Tsarshadow Kentucky Windage At Foxheart, the Havanese, GCH CH Qbin’s Strictly Confidential At Enginuity, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH ByRequest Bon Mot, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv’s Sultry Sensation. 

By now every fancier knows that Matisse is the nation’s Number One Dog All Breeds with 131 BIS and 169 Working Groups this year and the second most successful show dog ever with 226 career BIS.

At Sunday’s South Dade Kennel club encore, the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey, and the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Bluvali Players Paradigm, did an encore, repeating their Saturday BIS and RBIS.

Joining Charlotte and Dymer in judge Toddie Clark’s final were the rest of Saturday’s finalists, the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Fair Isle Black Tie CD JH, the Whippet, GCH CH Bo-Bett Appraxin Angel, the Samoyed, GCH CH White Magic's Seasoned Traveler, the West Highland White Terrier GCH CH White Oaks Invincible Snowplow, and the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Kaylen's Kahlua. Charlotte is the nation’s Number One Puli and Number Two Herding Dog with 14 BIS and 64 Group Firsts.
