SUFFOLK COUNTY KC DAY ONE

GCH CH InVolo The King of Pop 

Out on the Island (Long Island, for those not from New York) the Suffolk County Kennel Club was in town of St James for opener. The seven dogs that stayed all day to see judge Christine Salyers Anderson were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Evergreen Good Intentions, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Komondor, GCH CH Quintessential Chauncey, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Class Act By Hallsblu, the Papillon, GCH CH InVolo The King of Pop, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Ecco Lormis True Grit Of Dove-Cote, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Classical's My Turn CGC. 

GCH CH Evergreen Good Intentions 

Finishing one/two were the Papillon, Jackson, and the Irish Setter, Gideon. Jackson was piloted to his 14th BIS of the year by owner handler Gia Garofalo.

RARE BEAUCERON BIS


GCH CH De Joie Du Chateau Rocher CA 

The Beauceron, GCH CH De Joie Du Chateau Rocher CA, became the second of his breed to win an AKC all breed BIS, taking the top prize at Friday’s Warrenton Kennel Club show in Millwood VA.

Joining in Gideon in judge Robert Hutton’s final were the Flat-Coated Retriever, GCH CH Windy Hill God Of Fire RN JH CGC, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Shameless, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Dynasty's Husky Lucky Strike, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Ticket To Ride, the Papillon, GCH CH Lacros Sweet Talking Guy @ Way to Go, and the RBIS, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Del Zarzoso Salvame From Afterglow.

 It was the first BIS for a Beauceron since 2012. Congratulations to breeder Karla Davis, owner Marlene Palmer, and handler Tony Carter.

TWO HUNDRED BIS!

We awake this morning to find that the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, just collected his 200th Best In Show, becoming just the fourth dog in AKC history to have reached this mark. Only the Scottish Terrier, CH Braeburn’s Close Encounter with 214 BIS, the Wire Fox Terrier,CH Registry’s Lonesome Dove with 216 BIS,and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Altana’s Mystique with 275 BIS won more.

The win came at Friday’s Onondaga Kennel Association show in Romulus NY. Also asking for judge Linda More’s favor were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Militza's My Cherie Amour, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Raquel Welch Of Malabo APD, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Sweet Time, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power, the RBIS, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the Puli, GCH CH Wallbanger Fringe. 

 It was the 105th BIS this year for Matisse. Our congratulations and thanks to all of those people who have brought this amazing animal to our sport, breeder/owner Donna Gottdenker, owners Milan Lint & Peggy Helming, and handler Michael Scott.

GRAND VALLEY KC DAY ONE

The nation’s Number One Toy Dog, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Hitime’s What the Inferno, took the opening day BIS at the Grand Valley Kennel Club’s four show stop in Grand Junction CO.

Joining Danny in judge Dana Cline’s final on Thursday were the RBIS, the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly Handsome, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Osiris Cowboy Casanova, the Akita, GCH CH Mt Joy’s The Promise Land At Dune, the Standard Manchester Terrier, GCH CH Oasis Razzmatazz CA, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Napachai Hilsman Throw Caution To The Wind, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Copperridge What’s Your Dream. 

Danny is the country’s Number Eight Dog All Breeds with 16 all breed Bests this year.

ELMIRA KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse 

Our show week started yesterday in upstate New York with the four show Wine Country Circuit in Romulus NY. The Elmira Kennel Club took Thursday’s Opener and put judge James Frederiksen in the final ring. The seven dogs making the day one final were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Militza's My Cherie Amour, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Raquel Welch Of Malabo APD, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Abbeyrose Black Diamond, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the Rough Collie, GCH CH Tartanside Savoir-Faire.

Copping the opening BIS was the nation’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the PWD, Matisse. Taking the RBIS was the Shih Tzu, Rocket. The win brings Matisse’s BIS career record to 199, 104 of which have come this year.

The seven dogs that made it to judge Jeannette McGinnis’ final on Saturday were the Vizsla, GCH CH Jaybren's Irish Star, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Foxtail's Race For The Chase, the Akita, GCH CH Sondaisa Fyre When Ready CD RN, the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CCH Whitebriar Jaw Dropper (Nzd), the Pug, GCH CH Prima Lucca Wishing On A Shoboat Tu, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Lakeridge Atalanta Summer In Paris, the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Wind Spirit Rod’s Amazing Grace.

Taking the BIS was the Westie, JD. Collecting the RBIS was the Aussie, Grace. It’s the first AKC for the import from New Zealand. Congratulations to breeders Maureen Murphy & Vanessa Edwards , owner June Fraser, and David Gignac.

would be back in the final ring on Sunday along with the returning Beagle, Akita, and Australian Shepherd to plead their cases with judge Luis Sosa. Joining them were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Chamberlaynes Mutiny O'Captiva, the Toy Fox Terrier, GCH CH Valcopy Gunslinger, and the Dalmatian, GCH CH Country Luvz A Rockstar.

Judge Sosa’s BIS was the Akita, Holster, and his RBIS was the Irish Setter, Colin. It was the first BIS of the year for Holster and handler Andy Linton. Congratulations to Andy, breeder/owner Colleen Sullivan, and co-breeders Teresa & Rick Witte & Sterling Milton.

TWO CITIES KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Simpatico Equal Justice GCH 

Much of Northern California is on fire, so we are not surprised that things were pretty hot at the Two Cities Kennel Club’s two shows in Yuba City CA this past weekend. Judge Cindy Meyer had seven eager competitors in her final on Saturday. They were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Simpatico Equal Justice, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH M&M’s Fear the Beard, the Boxer, GCH CH Hijinx This Is How I Roll, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Michan's Mick Like A Rolling Stone, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Hitimes What The Inferno, the French Bulldog, GCH CH LeBull's El Morocco At LeCirque, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH PaRay Preferential. 

Going to the head of the line was the Weimaraner, followed by the Boxer. It was the first BIS of the year for the four year old bitch. Congratulations to breeder/owner Jennifer Martin, owners J Logan & Ronald Goularte, and handler Keith Paultz.

Judge Michael Dougherty would bring it home on Sunday after reviewing the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Foxboro N Shardust Authentic, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Camelot’s Hazelnut Macchiato, the previously seen Boxer, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Regency’s Play For Keeps, the above named Pom, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Del Zarzoso Salvame From Afterglow, and the Puli, GCH CH Mt Hood’s Leapin Linni Of Tordor.

He would name the Springer, Maddox, his BIS and the Puli, Linni, his RBIS. It was the second BIS of the season for Maddox and handler Lynda O’Conner-Schneider.

ARAPAHOE KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Everso’s Who’s Pimpin’ Who 

We have not yet visited the West in this week’s show reports. Let’s go to Aurora CO where the Arapahoe Kennel Club hosted a pair of shows this past weekend. Day one went to the Labrador Retriever, GCH CH Everso’s Who’s Pimpin’ Who. BIS judge Allen Odom also liked the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH First Class Willow Wind The Phoenix, whom he gave the Reserve Best In Show. Rounding out his seven were the Greyhound, CH Shylo The Party Spot, the Great Dane, GCH CH Tue-J's Pacific Category Five, the Maltese, GCH CH Rhapsody’s Someone Like You, the Keeshond, GCH CH Twin Trees Shoot For The Moon, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Rocheuses Papa Was A Rollin Stone.

 It was the first BIS by a Lab this year. Congratulations to breeder/owner Stefanie Perrine and owner Joseph Acker. 

GCH CH Thunderhill's Apple Bottom Jeans 

 On Sunday judge Douglas Taylor would see the same Lab, Hippie, the Whippet, GCH CH Bo-Bett Tivio Man Of Steel, the Samoyed, GCH CH Polar Mist Crystal Sunrise, the aforementioned Bedlington, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Northmoor Victorian Tycoon, the Bulldog, Cash’s Sexy Chick, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Thunderhill's Apple Bottom Jeans. 

He chose the Sheltie, Bindi, for his BIS and the Lab, Hippie, as his RBIS. It was the third BIS this year for Bindi and breeder/owner/handler Michelle Miller.

KC OF COLUMBUS, INDIANA

Our Number Three Dog All Breeds, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, was in Edinburgh IN this past weekend for the Kennel Club of Columbus, Indiana‘s two shows. On Saturday Flame was judge June Penta’s BIS. 

GCH CH Cambria's Vraiment Parfait 

Challenging Flame for the win were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaze'R 'N Wingfield Wait Wait Don'T Tell, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Shameless, the RBIS, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Cambria's Vraiment Parfait, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, GCH CH King's Mtn. Angelina Ballerina, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Wenrick's Don’t Stop Believing, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Boy. The win brings Flame’s 2014 BIS total to 39, making her the Number One Non-Sporting Dog. 

Sunday judge Dr Gerard Penta would see the same seven and place the Doberman Zsa Zsa first and Flame second. Zsa Zsa is the Number Five Working Dog with six BIS tis season.

SHEBOYGAN KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Ziemabora’s Strut Your Stuff 

We continue our reports from last week with this report on the Sheboygan Kennel Club’s two shows in Plymouth WI. The seven dogs that made it to judge Larry Mackai’s final on Saturday were the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Edgewood Devilish Design, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Hunters Ridge Steven Wally, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Ziemabora’s Strut Your Stuff, the Australian Terrier, GCH CH Dunham Lake Scout Master, the Pug, GCH CH Bousfield Jubilee’s Shooter Jennings, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Safari’s This Side Of Paradise, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Margaux’s Va Voom.

The two capturing the top prizes were the Siberian and the Cocker. It was the first AKC BIS for the Siberian, Strut. Congratulations to breeder Karen Webber, owner Bonnie Schaeffel, and the Dave Slattum.

The Bouvier, Harley, would be the only one of Saturday’s finalists to make it to judge Lee Whittier’s BIS ring on Sunday. He would compete against the Irish Setter, GCH CH Tramore’s Notorious, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Azize’s Purple Heart SC, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Nightline Viking A Tanglewood, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake Pants on Fire, the Papillon, GCH CH Mystery’s Question Mark, and the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH Ha-Lee Kiki-Ari Captain Morgan.

The two that impressed judge Whittier were her BIS, the Border Terrier, Cinder, and her RBIS, the Giant, Thor. Cinder is the country’s Number One Border Terrier and Number Eight Terrier with four BIS this year.
