PEKE BEST IN MASSACHUSETTS

It’s day two in West Springfield MA and it was judge Kathleen Kolbert’s turn to choose a Best In Show for the Naugatuck Valley Kennel Club. Her Options were the English Setter. GCH CH Weymouth’s En Fuego, the Irish Wolfhound GCH Dun Myrica Doctor Gonzo Of Eagle, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, the Colored Bull Terrier, Notorious Never Say Never, the Pekingese, CH Pequest General Tso, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Cher Ami's Toast With Remy Martin, and the Rough Collie, GCH CH Milas Latin Fever. 

GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse 

Her BIS was the Peke, The General, and her RBIS was the PWD, Matisse. It was the fourth BIS in 12 trips to the final ring this year for The General and breeder/owner/handler David Fitzpatrick.

BOXER BEST IN MASSACHUSETTS

GCH CH Brisbane "N" Blue Monday's Diamonds Are Decadent 

Our first show of the week is the Naugatuck Valley Kennel Club show, the first of five in West Springfield MA this holiday week. Judge Gayle Bontecou had the opening day final and her pick of the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Celtic Thunder, the Irish Wolfhound, GCH CH Dun Myrica Doctor Gonzo Of Eagle, the Boxer, GCH CH Brisbane "N" Blue Monday's Diamonds Are Decadent, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Charthill Highland Lad Canty Troubadour, the Pekingese, CH Pequest General Tso, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Diva's Bastille My Heart, and the Rough Collie, GCH CH Milas Latin Fever. 

The two she chose were the Boxer, Suri, and the Wolfhound, Gonzo. It’s the third in just seven final appearances this year for Suri and handler Kimberly Calvacca.

MORE BACK2BACK POM BIS

Our theme of Back2Back BIS was repeated by the Pomeranian, GCH CH Starfire's Spank Me Hard Call Me Crazy, who was Dr Gareth Morgan-Jones at today’s Tidewater Kennel Club of Virginia show in Richmond VA.

 Joining Spanky were the Flat-Coated Retriever, GCH CH Windy Hill Dance To The Music JH, the RBIS, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Doberman Pinscher GCH Allure Playing With Fire, the Bulldog, GCH CH Imperious HamItUp Southern Bell, and German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Woodside's Megabucks. 

These were the first two BIS for Spanky and breeder/owner/handler Jose Cabrera. Now what are the odd of two Pomeranians winning their first BIS in Back2Back performances on the same weekend? It has been a surprising summer.

SUPER SHIH TZU SUMMER

The Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power, is one of this year’s great stories. In a year full of outstanding performances, it is hard to get noticed. However, no one can ignore the accomplishments of Rocket and breeder/owner/handler Luke Ehricht. 


GCH CH Unique Diamond In The Ruff 

Rocket was judge Patricia Hess’ Best In Show at Sunday’s Del-Otse-Nango Kennel Club show in Bainbridge NY. Judge Hess also considered the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, GCH CH Fireside's Riding High ,SH,CGC, the Basenji, GCH CH Akuaba N Eldorado Bungle In The Jungle, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Cypress Bay's Big Sur, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Class Act By Hallsblu, her RBIS, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Unique Diamond In The Ruff, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Collinswood Sparks Fly.



Rocket has ten BIS this month, including three hat tricks in three weekends, bringing his 2014 record to 12 BIS and 29 Toy Groups.  In a year when the record for the Number of BIS by a Toy Dog was broken, we have seen one of the most fierce competitions for Number One Toy Dog.  Check with us mid-week for this weekend’s standings.

BICHON BEST IN WEST BEND WI

GCH CH Cher Ami's Toast With Remy Martin 

The Kettle Moraine Kennel Club wrapped its two day stop in West Bend WI with judge Lee Whittier’s final. The seven dogs she considered were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the English Foxhound, Taillis Au Birchwood Tamsall, the Great Dane, GCH CH Gracyn Lost Creek The Descendant Of Elan, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, GCH CH King's Mtn Angelina Ballerina, the Papillon, GCH CH Wingssong Singular Sensation, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Cher Ami's Toast With Remy Martin, and the Old English Sheepdog, Barkshire's Uncle Sam.

The two she liked were the Bichon, Remy, and the Dandie Dinmont, Angie. It’s the third BIS in 18 trips to the final ring this year for Remy.

GCH CH Nighthawk's Limited Edition CD RE THD 

Joining our multiple BIS winners this weekend is the Rottweiler, GCH CH Nighthawk's Limited Edition CD RE THD, who posted consecutive wins at the Waterloo Kennel Club’s two shows in their Iowa hometown. 

GCH CH Tramore Notorious 

Challenging Logan for judge Robert Schreve’s attention were his RBIS, the Irish Setter, GCH CH Tramore Notorious, the Whippet, Nahr-Volts Sherry, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Glauries Top Super Mod Ell, the Shih Tzu, Falling Stars I’m In The Jail House Now, the Keeshond, GCH CH Trumpet’s No Questions Asked, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Kosmar Striking Back of Bridgelady. These were the first BIS this year for Logan. Can you see a pattern developing here?

NUMBER ONE REACHES MID YEAR

The country’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, closed the Oklahoma City Classic Sunday as he opened it on Wednesday, with a Best In Show at the Oklahoma City Kennel Club show.

Joining Matisse in judge Charlotte Patterson’s final were the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow Splash's Ruggedly Handsome, her RBIS, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH Raydachs Ride My Ducati Sw, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Kelwyn's GM Freestyle Flyer, the Papillon, GCH CH InVolo The King of Pop, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Tang Dynasty Rocky. 

Matisse reaches the mid-year point with 66 BIS and 85 Working Groups and almost 79,000 points. We are beginning to run out of superlatives.

BACK2BACK BIS IN LONG BEACH

CH Mythical Traveling In Style 

The Pomeranian, CH Mythical Traveling In Style, had quite a debut weekend, with back2back BIS in Long Beach CA.  The latest came at Sunday's hometown Long Beach Kennel Club show.   

Edd Bivin might have chosen the Weimaraner, GCH CH Simpatico Equal Justice, his RBIS, the Whippet, CH Winway Ramona Quimby, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Chancellor Flirts High Flyin' Gladiator, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Dytona VIP, the Lhasa Apso, CH Rufkins Hunk Of Burnin' Love, or the Pembroke Welsh Corgi , GCH CH Coventry Fly Me To The Moon, but he didn’t.

This year has proven to be a revelation, with multiple first time BIS wins coming every weekend. There is plenty of show season left for surprises.

MOUNT BACHELOR KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH PaRay's Preferential 

Redmond OR was the site of the Mount Bachelor Kennel Club’s two shows this weekend. The seven dogs that made it to judge Janet Sinclair’s final on Saturday were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Diamond MK The Eagle Has Landed, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Bakari's Lor Vitra Caymus CGC, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Peace River's Gathers No Moss At Sunstra, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Cambria's Kid N Play, the Pug, CH Rose's Go The Distance, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Country Luvz A Rockstar, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH PaRay's Preferential.

GCH CH Peace River's Gathers No Moss At Sunstra 

Finishing one/two were the Sheltie, Satoshi, and the Malamute, Mick. Our Dog2Watch Satoshi has four BIS and 12 Herding Groups to his credit this year.

GCH CH Jaybren's Irish Star 

Satoshi and Mick would both make it back to Judith Daniels’ final on Sunday along with the Vizsla, GCH CH Jaybren's Irish Star, the Harrier, GCH CH Pacific Happytail's Heartbreaker, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Pineriver's Show Me The Money, the Italian Greyhound, GCH CH Bravehound's Medal Of Honor At Windancer, and the Keeshond, GCH CH Skyline's Unit Of Measure.

BIS would go to the Vizsla, Cagney, and the RBIS would go to Satoshi, the Sheltie. It’s the first BIS of the year for the nation’s Number One Vizsla. Congratulations to breeders/owners Jill & James Brennan and handler Andy Linton.

FIRST TIMERS RULE IN WASHINGTON

We start our Monday Morning Mop Up in Mt Vernon WA where the Bell Vernon Kennel Association hosted two show this weekend. Saturday ended with judge Sonny Ambrosio in the final ring with the Irish Setter, CH Chamberlaynes Mutiny O’Captiva, the Black & Tan Coonhound, GCH CH Southchase's Wilbert Roy, the Boxer, CH R And G N Hunter Creeks Mystical Attraction, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Raybills Yesireebob, the Papillon, GCH CH Titian's Risky Business, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Absolute Affinity Agape Bullet Proof, and the Briard, GCH CH Deja Vu Mia Cake Walk.

The two he liked were the Boxer, Jayda, and the Papillon, Gambler. It’s the first BIS for Jayda and handler, Boxer maven, Kimberlie Steele-Gamero. Congratulations to Kim, breeders Gayann Jones & Debra Rowe, and owners Albert Chan and Ronald Ang.

On Sunday judge Francisco Chapa would consider the same Irish Setter, Coonhound, & Papillon, along with the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Villairns Tag You're It, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Tiffanie's Fame And Fortune, the Schipperke, CH Telstar The Way We Wanted It, and Smooth Collie, CH Encore's N Zandria's Parlor Trick At Tercan.
