SMOOTH FOX THREE-PEAT

GCH CH Absolutely Talk Of The Town 

The Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Absolutely Talk Of The Town, made it three in a row, sweeping the Lost Coast Kennel Club of California shows in Ferndale CA. The latest came today under judge Elizabeth Muthard. 


GCH CH Travler Kelise Overdrive 

Judge Muthard also liked the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Travler Kelise Overdrive, whom she gave the RBIS. Rounding out her seven were the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, GCH CH Javahill Surf2 An 8 Second Ride BN, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH M&Ms Fear The Beard, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Baron Dye Of Ridgetop, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, the GCH CH Quail Garden Loch Lomond Déjà vu, and the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Del Zarzoso Salvame From Afterglow. 

Taylor is the country’s Number One Smooth Fox Terrier and Number Four Terrier with six BIS and 17 Terrier Groups in limited showing.

The Richmond VA doggy summer camp continued today with the Tidewater Kennel Club of Virginia show. Judge Kent Delaney would consider the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Legacy Random Titleist, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Mastiff, GCH CH Goldleaf's Trouble Coming CGC, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Starfire's Spank Me Hard Call Me Crazy, the Chow Chow, GCH CH Are-Jay's Harlem Renaissance, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Ha'Penny Mirimar The Fab Fawn. 

GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie 

He would choose the Pom, Spanky,  as his BIS, and the Skye, Charlie, as his RBIS. It is the first BIS for Spanky. Congratulations to breeders/owners Jose Cabrera & Fabian Arienti and owner Margo Koga.

 From Lima OH we hear that the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Shameless, was judge Joan Scott ‘s Best In Show at today’s Dayton Kennel Club show. Also seeking judge Scott’s attention were the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Amberlove's Are We A Pair? JH, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Philmar Superman , the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid of Honor, the Blenheim & Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH Loujon Thornwood Little Jacob, her RBIS, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine’s Deck the Halls, and the Pyrenean Shepherd, GCH CH La Brise Sun Bear.

Next we go to Vandergrift PA for a report from the Bushy Run Kennel Club. Judge, Janet Turnage Nahikian’s seven hopefuls were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Evergreen’s One Part Sand One Part Sea RA, the Black & Tan, GCH CH Foxfire Full Force Gale, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Desire Of Love Dell' Antica Caledonia, the King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH Novel All Aquiver, the Bulldog, GCH CH Cherokee Legend Cowboy, and the Rough Collie, GCH CH Devinwood A Perfect Stranger. 

The two she liked were the Collie, Finn, and the Golden, Salty. It was the first BIS in seven trips to the final ring for Finn and handler Pete Denbow. Congratulations to Pet, breeders/owners Jacqueline A Caruso & Ronald Caruso.

The country’s Number Two Dog, the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo's Picture Perfect, closed the four day set in Wrentham MA with his second BIS win of the stop.

Joining Swagger in judge Enrique Jorge Filippini’s final at the Wampanoag Kennel Club show were the RBIS, the English Setter, GCH CH Weymouth’s En Fuego, the Pharaoh Hound, DC Hallam's Jake Of Arolet SC, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Von Wilhelms Over The Rainbow, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Br'Er Fox Philippa Of Hunterston, the Miniature Pinscher, CH Marlex Call Me La Lupe, and the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Bar-None Picture Book. Swagger returns home to Colorado with 40 BIS and 74 Herding Groups.

CH Mythical Traveling In Style 

We hear lots of complaints about how the same dogs win over and over and we have had an extraordinary season of dominant dogs. However, we have also seen a higher than usual number of first time BIS winners. At Saturday’s Kennel Club of Beverly Hills show in Long Beach CA the Pomeranian, CH Mythical Traveling In Style, picked up his first BIS.

Joining Diego in judge Dan Ericsson’s final were the RBIS, the Field Spaniel, GCH CH Promenade Pay It Forward, the 13” Beagle, CH Torquay Midnight Interlude, the Akita, GCH CH Redwitch Adreneline Junkie, the Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Hjohoo’s Save Hjour Love For Me, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Karmel’s Banana In Pajamas, and the Australian Cattle Dog, GCH CH Kokopelli’s SoBe It. Congratulations to breeder/owner Nady Godbout, and handler Noble Inglet.

The Oklahoma City Summer Classic has been a free for all this week with three different dogs going Best In Show so far. Saturday saw the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Kelwyn’s GM Freestyle Flyer, pick up her first BIS of the year.

Joining her in judge Jon Cole’s final were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Courtwood Whirly Girl, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Iceage V Tum-Tums Vriendjes, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Dezperado’s Hallelujah, the Maltese, CH Ta-Jon’s Sugar Dumplin’, his RBIS, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Riverside Telltail Coco Posh. 

We don’t know where this four year old Scottie has been hiding, but a 1700 dog BIS over Top Ten competition is a helluva way to make an entrance. We hope to see this one soon. Congratulations to breeders/owners Kelli & David Edell and handler Jesus Moreno.

Our next stop is Waterloo IA where the hometown Waterloo Kennel Club is hosting two shows this weekend. The seven dogs that judge Ruth Zimmerman saw on Saturday were the German shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Kan-Point’s Makin The Chase, the Whippet, Nahr-Volts Sherry, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Nighthawk's Limited Edition CD RE THD, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Cumhill’s Hell Raiser, the Miniature Pinscher, EM’S Timeline Out to Impress, the Keeshond, GCH CH Trumpet’s No Questions Asked, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Kosmar Striking Back of Bridgelady.

Finishing one/two were the Rottweiler, Logan, and the Keeshond, shady. It’s the first BIS for Logan and handler Julia Foster Hess. Congratulations to Julia, breeder Daviann Mitchell, and owners Jodi & Terry LaBombard.

FIRST TIME BIS IN WISCONSIN

The Kettle Moraine Kennel Club is in West Bend WI this weekend for its two shows. Judge Betsy yates had the Saturday final and her pick of the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the 15” Beagle, CH Gwencalon’s Lux Stellarum, the Samoyed, GCH CH Celticfrost Ranger N West Free, The Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake Pants on Fire, the Papillon, GCH CH Wingssong Singular Sinsation, the Bichon Frise, CH Cher Ami's Toast With Remy Martin, and the Australian Shepherd, CH JND’s Bare Necessities. 

Her Best was the Beagle and her Reserve the Sammie. It’s the first for the 15 month old bitch. Congratulations to breeders/owners Kathleen Friend & William Friend and handler Doug G Belter. We hope to have photos for you soon.

BACK2BACK BIS FOR SHIH TZU

While much of the attention this year has been given to the nation’s Top Two Dogs All Breeds, the summer has seen several other dogs burning up the circuit. Chief among them is the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power, who has posted back2back BIS in Bainbridge NY this weekend. 

GCH CH Tashtins Lookin for Trouble 

The latest win came at Saturday’s Chenango Valley Kennel Club show. Challenging Rocket for judge Mary Lou Kniola’s approval were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Shade Mountain’s Cane Bello Moon Dancer JH, her RBIS, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Tashtins Lookin for Trouble, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Cypress Bay’s Big Sur, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Monamour JP Energy of Kiss, the Standard Poodle, CH Unique Queen Of Dazzle, and the Shetland Sheepdog, Showcase It Had To Be You. Rocket has gathered nine BIS in June, bringing his 2014 take to 11 BIS and 28 Toy Groups.
