MONTANA MARATHON CLOSER

The Montnana Marathon ended its eight day journey in Missoula MT with the day three show of the Five Valley Kennel Club. Judge Col Joe Purkhiser had the final final and his pick of the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Hill-N-Don & Canyonwood Seemore of Me, the Borzoi, GCH CH Aashtoria Wildhunt Hidden Agenda, the Akita, GCH CH Mojo's Continuation Of A Myth, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Full Throttle’s Wee Drop of Mischief O’Kilcregg, the Pug, GCH CH Winsome-Nirvana-Blaque Triple Play, the Bichon Frise, CH Newtnine Crown of Queen, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH PaRay Preferential.

Taking home the set’s last BIS was the Borzoi, Casper. Packing up his second RBIS of the stop was the Pug, Slugger, It was the first BIS this year for Casper. Congratulations to breeders/owners Robin & Charles Riel, co-breeder G Ariel Duncan, owner Stuart McGraw, and handler Lisa Haney.

AKITA BIS IN VIRGINIA

GCH CH CR-Wicca's Trade Secret 

The Gloucester Kennel Club of Virginia closed the four day First Colony Cluster today with judge Donna Buxton in the final ring. The seven dogs that stayed to the end to join her were the English Setter, GCH CH Weymouths En Fuego, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH GCH Treis Pinheiros Buona Sera SW, Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca's Trade Secret, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Yarrow’s Hi-Tech Ben There Done That, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing's Po-Ba-Ri At Arundina, and the Finnish, Lapphund Lumiturpa Tapakka. 

GCH CH Weymouths En Fuego 

Packing up the set’s last big rosette was the Akita, Trader. Taking home the Reserve ribbon was the Setter, Blaze. Trader is the nation’s Number Two Working Dog and Number Nine Dog All Breeds with ten BIS and 27 Working Groups this year.

The Montana Marathon continued its eight day long trek through Big Sky Country with the Five Valley Kennel Club’s show on Monday in Missoula MT. Judge Kent Delaney had the final and his choice of the English Springer Spaniel, Hil-N-Don & Canyonwood Seemore of Me, GCH CH the Borzoi, GCH CH Aashtoria Wildhunt Hidden Agenda CGC, the Akita, GCH CH Mojo’s Continuation of a Myth, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Sierra’s Ground Zero, the Pug, GCH CH Winsome-Nirvana-Blaque Triple Play, the Bulldog, GCH CH Dowat’s the Gladiator, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Belmark Close Encounter.

 It was the AmStaff, Taking home the big rosette was the AmStaff, Trigger. The Pug, Slugger, packed up the Reserve ribbon. It was Trigger’s third BIS in seven trips to the final ring this year and his second of the weekend.

PWD BIS IN VIRGINIA AGAIN

Mid Atlantic fanciers extended their weekend into Monday with today’s Gloucester Kennel Club of Virginia show in Richmond VA. BIS judge Polly Smith’s final seven were the English Setter, GCH CH Weymouths En Fuego, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner's International S'Cess, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Smooth Coated Chihuahua, GCH CH Sonnus Filho (Sanchez), the Dalmatian GCH Spotted Bliss Oreo Delight, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Woodsides Megabucks.

 Her Best was the nation’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the PWD, Matisse. Her RBIS was the nation’s Number Seven Dog All Breeds, the Skye, Charlie. Matisse is maintaining a record setting pace with 63 BIS in 82 final appearances this year.

Our last Sunday report is from Canby OR and the Clakamas Kennel Club. Judge Robin Stansell had the closing final and his pick of the Flat-Coated Retriever, GCH CH Windy Hill God of Fire RN JH CGC, the Black & Tan Coonhound, GCH CH Southchase’s Wilbert Roy, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Topaz’s Bad Action, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Tiffanie’s Fame and Fortune, the Toy Poodle, CH North Well Vivian JP Rose Queen, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Fulla Bull Soulja Boy, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Copper Hills No Reservations.

He chose the Aussie, Bourdaine, as his BIS and the Frenchie, Rocky, as his RBIS. It was the first BIS for Bourdaine and handler Larry Fenner. Congratulations to Larry, breeder Kathy Hubbard, and owners Sharon Rapadas & Nancy Resetar.

Sunday the Montana Marathon moved to Missoula MT for the Five Valley Kennel Club show. Judge Wayne Thompson had the final and his pick of the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Over The Legal Limit, the Black & Tan Coonhound, GCH CH Jazzman Comebacker, the Akita, GCH CH Mojo’s Continuation of a Myth, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH J’Cobe Broxden Accidentally On Porpoise, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Hilltops GQ Cover Boy, the Bichon Frise, CH Newtine Crowne of Queen, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Fairway One Over Par. 

Finishing one/two were the Akita, Nik, and the Smooth Fox, Flipper. It was the third BIS in 12 trips to the final ring this year.

BORDER TERRIER BEST IN IOWA

CH McHill’s HRH Prince Gizmo House Of Gremlin 

 Iowa City IA was the site of Sunday’s Hawkeye Kennel Club show, which ended with judge Patricia Hastings final. The seven dogs she considered were the English Cocker Spaniel, CH Foxwood’s Rock Of Cashel, the Saluki, GCH CH Aurora’s The Song And Dance, the Mastiff, GCH CH Willow Ridge’s Risky Business, the Border Terrier, CH McHill’s HRH Prince Gizmo House Of Gremlin, the Brussels Griffon, JN Ambrosia’s Raise Your Glass, the Dalmatian, CH Centurion Anticipation Charming, and the Border Collie, GCH CH F Si A Ge Of Fu You Yuan Kennel. 

GCH CH Willow Ridge’s Risky Business 

 The Border Terrier, Gizmo, snapped up the BIS and the Mastiff, Kruz, grabbed the RBIS. It was the first for Gizmo. Congratulations to breeder/owner Peter Holson and owner Alberto Barrios.

The summer solstice may be the only time for an outdoor dog show in Cambridge MN. The seven dogs in judge Charlotte Clem McGowan’s final at Sunday’s Cambridge Minnesota Kennel Club show were the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Sastaya’s Eleven Eleven, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Shameless, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Cambria's Vraiment Parfait, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Cumhill Hell Raiser, the King Charles English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH LTO Prosperity, the Keeshond, GCH CH Trumpets No Questions Asked, and the Canaan Dog, GCH CH Pleasant Hill Magnum Of Samara.

Best was the Whippet, Brazen, and her Reserve, the Gordon, Teddy. Shameless is AKC’s Number One Whippet and Number Four Hound with five BIS and 31 Hound Groups.

Our Monday Mop Up begins in Crown Point IN with Sunday’s Lake Shore Kennel Club show. The last seven dogs on the grounds were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaze'R 'N Wingfield Wait Wait Don't Tell, the Saluki, GCH CH Impala Ladies Love Outlaw, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Avatar Cosmac Storm, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Garcini Rangels Rock N Rolla, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, CH Orchard Hill Just Enough Luck, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Serenade Renaissance Live It Up, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lockenhaus' Rumor Has It V Kenlyn.

Picking up the big rosette was the Setter, Teller. Collecting the Reserve ribbon was the Rottweiler, Mac. Teller is the Number Six Sporting Dog with seven BIS and 26 Sporting Groups.

The Mid-Hudson Kennel Association had the closer in New Paltz NY and they put judge Lynette Saltzman in the final ring with the English Setter, CH Kaska's Dapper Don Of Loralei BN RN, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Allure Playing With Fire, the Scottish Terrier, CH Greatscot's Last Call, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Zeigen Aurora Australis, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Unique Da Maya Dancing Queen, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Classical's My Turn.

Judge Saltzman’s BIS was the Doberman and her RBIS was the Pom.  It was the first BIS this year for Flare in six final appearances this year.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Nancy Bosley, co-breeders Carmen Pitts & Julie Porter, and handler Gwen deMilta.
