FIRST EVER RED & WHITE BIS

We start our Monday Morning Mop Up in Oshkosh WI where the Winnegamie Dog Club & the Oshkosh Kennel Club hosted two shows.  Judge Susan St John Brown had the WDC final on Saturday and her pick of the Golden Retriever, CH Summits Back By Popular Demand, the Wirehaired Dachshund, CH  Daybreak's Blossoms And Bows W, the Boxer, GCH CH Nantess Caleno Numero Uno, the West Highland White Terrier, Mac Ken Chars One Man Band At Shaireign, the Shih Tzu, CH Symarun's Endless Love, the Keeshond, GCH CH KJ.s Hot Date, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Impact's Pop Rocks.

Her BIS was the Dachshund, Natalie, and her RBIS, the Shih Tzu, Ritchie.  It was the first BIS for Natalie and handler Carlos Puig.  Congratulations to Carlos and breeder/owner Deborah Krieg.

GCH CH Mizen Duchas Dilis JH

Judge James Brown took over on Sunday for the OKC and greeted the Irish Red & White Setter, GCH CH Mizen Duchas Dilis JH, the Dachshund, Natalie, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Catera's Keepin' It World Class, the Westie, Ritchie, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Tab's Scootin' Boomer Of Storm, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH BluRubEin Aged To Perfection, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH JND's Bare Necessities.

Best went to the Red & White, Sean, Reserve to the Shar-Pei, Relic.  It was the first all-breed BIS for an Irish Red and White Setter since the breed’s introduction in 2009.  A big congratulations to breeder Ann Miller and owner/handler Judy Baumgartner.

AKITA BIS IN VIRGINIA

The 2014 winning streak of the country’s Number One Dog All Breeds was stopped at six today.  The Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret, bested the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, in judge Whitney Coombs’ Working Group at the Chesapeake Kennel Club Of Maryland’s closer in Fredericksburg VA.

Trader would advance to Nat Horn’s final where he was joined by the English Setter, GCH CH Weymouths En Fuego,the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Crispy Legacy, the Havanese, GCH CH Yup's Malibu Dream, French Bulldog, GCH CH Diva's Bastille My Heart, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Collinswood Sparks Fly. 

Judge Horn would make Trader his BIS and the Afghan, Ryder, his RBIS.  Trader was 2013’s Number Five Working Dog with seven and 31 Working Groups. Congratulations  to breeders/owners Joann Charnik & Carla Burke, owners Thomas Bavaria & Ann Bavaria, and handler Heather Bremmer.

Day four of the Florida Marathon was the responsibility of the Tampa Bay Kennel Club.  They asked judge Elizabeth Muthard to choose her top two from the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Foxwoods Dublin Diva, the 15” Beagle, CH Tashtins Lookin For Trouble, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, GCH CH Derby's Toast With Gusto, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Xela's Party Tric, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine's Deck The Halls, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Wolf Creek Galaxy Of Merivern.

Finishing one/two were the GSD, Galaxy, and the Skye, Charlie.  Galaxy was last year’s Number Four Herding Dog with 13 BIS and 70 Herding Groups.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Pat Walker, co-breeder Mary Ann Imhoff, owner Edward Farrell, and handler Scott Yergin.

GCH CH Cerise Celtic Thunder

The Kennel Club of Buffalo took over Saturday in Hamburg NY and put Col Jerry Weiss in the final ring with the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Celtic Thunder, the Saluki, GCH CH Starlite's Made Of The Best Stuff On Earth JC RN BN, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Snowmist's Quicksilver Speigas, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Pekingese, GCH CH Pekeden PHD For Schuyler, a Schipperke from the classes, Everwoods Dads Sweet Success, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Classical’s My Turn.

Col Weiss’ chose the Springer, Liam, for his BIS while the class Schipperke picked up the RBIS and a five point major.  Liam joins a long line of BIS winning Cerise Springers.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Dorothy Cherry, co-breeder Kate O'Connell, owner Yuka Nobechi, and handler Meagan A Ulfers.

At Sunday’s KCB final Dr Ruby Hertz would see the Labrador Retriever, GCH CH Blackthorn Hailstorm, the Smooth Dachshund, CH Treslow’s Garden Party SS BN, the St Bernard, GCH CH Glidden’s Lady Isabella, the same Russell & Peke, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Arkeden N Kiskades Havin A Ball, and the Smooth Collie, CH  Travler’s Nissan Rogue BN CD RN.

Closing the set with a BIS was the Russell, Bosse.  Taking home the RBIS was the Saint, Izzy.  Bosse was 2013’s Number One Russell Terrier, Number Two Terrier, and Number Seven Dog All Breeds with 27 BIS and 103 Terrier Groups.  Congratulations to breeder Madeleine Sandell-Bark, owners Mark Ulrich & Christina Areskough, and handler Allison B Sunderman.

The Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, continues his relentless march in this critical first month of 2014, with six BIS in six outings this year.  The latest win came at yesterday’s Greater Fredericksburg Kennel Club show in Virginia.

Matisse was challenged in Dr Steve Keating’s final by the  English Setter, GCH CH Weymouths En Fuego,the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner's International S'Cess, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Mcvan's To Russia With Love, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Yarrow's Hi-Tech Ben There Done That, his RBIS, the Xoloitzcquintli, GCH CH Bayshore Giorgio Armani, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Lockenhaus Rumor Has It V Kenlyn.

The win assures that Matisse will start the week as the Number One Dog All Breeds!
