RIDGEBACK BACK2BACK BIS

Since we have multiple shows underway this Labor Day, our Monday Morning Mop Up is but an interim report.  Up in Union ME the Mid-Coast Kennel Club of Maine has wrapped the four day set in Union ME with judge Whitney Coombs’ final.  The seven who stayed to the very end were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on fire, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Raquel Welch of Malabo APD, the Great Dane, GCH CH MJM’s Hi-Air All Eyes On Me, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Charthill Top Billing, the Havanese, GCH CH Fuzzy Farm Qbin Who’s On First, the Chow Chow, GCH CH Are-Jay’s Harlem Renaissance, and the Bearded Collie, GCH H Bramley’s Green Mountain Boy.

Picking up her second consecutive BIS was the Ridgeback, Raquel,  Reserve went to the four year old Chow dog.  Raquel and handler Michelle Scott now have three BIS and 19 Hound Groups.

DAY THREE IN NORTH CAROLINA

The hometown Raleigh Kennel Club hosted Sunday in that North Carolina city.  Judge Betty Anne Stenmark’s seven finalists were the Nova Scotia Tolling Retriever, GCH CH Pikkinokka's Lightning Bug, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner's International S'Cess, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek Impression De Matisse, the Skye Terrier, CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Kan Sing's Tenzin, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Wolf Creek Galaxy Of Merivern.

Finishing one/two were the Portie, Matisse, and the Skye, Charlie.  Matisse is the Number One Portuguese Water Dog, the Number One Working Dog, and the Number Two Dog All Breeds with 58 BIS and 87 Working Groups.

The first of Sunday’s results comes in from Augusta NJ where judge Lawrence Terricone had the final ring for the Sussexx Hills Kennel Club.  The seven he considered were the Vizsla, GCH CH Cinnabar’s Sasco Finale, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Boxer, GCH CH Jacquet’s Annie En Elcanto, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Crispy Legacy, the Havanese, GCH CH Marcosa’s Bachelor, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Ale Kai Hillwood Celebration, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Camloch La De Da Alliance.

Best went to the Wire Fox, Sparky, and Reserve to the Afghan, Ryder.  Sparky started the season late, but still has nine BIS and 20 Terrier Groups, good enough to make him the Number Six Terrier at this point of the year.

Up on Lake Ontario is the town of Albion NY, site of the  Tonawanda Valley Kennel Club’s two shows this weekend.  Saturday’s seven finalists were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Venture’s Boys N Toys, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Bridgehill’s Mr. Mason’s Misbehavin’, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Snowmist's Quicksilver Speigas, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Greatscot’s Jezebel, the Chinese Crested, CH Explicit’s Presenting Big Booty Judy, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH By Request Bon Mot, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Acadia Stage Presence.

Judge Carol Noe’s Best was the Siberian, Fizzy, and her Reserve was the Poodle, Bon Mot.  Fizzy is the country’s Number One Siberian Husky with three BIS in 11 final appearances this year.

The Mid-Coast Kennel Club of Maine has the last two days of the four day set in Union ME this weekend.  Saturday saw judge Shirley Limoges in the final ring with the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Raquel Welch of Malabo APD, the Samoyed, GCH CH Julesno Snowstar Day Tripper, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Charthill Top Billing, the Havanese, GCH CH Fuzzy Farm Qbin Who’s On First, the Bulldog, GCH CH A’Vigdors Extase De Ma Beaute, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Shagshadow Pandamonium’s First Edition.

Her top two were the Ridgeback, Raquel, and the IWS, Riley.  Raquel is the Number One Rhodesian Ridgeback in the US with two BIS and 18 Hound Groups.  Seven of those Group Ones have come in the last month.  We look for Raquel to be moving up in the Hound rankings.
