RETREAT WITH US TO VERMONT

GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire

The movie makers in Best In Show portrayed the dog show community as a ridiculous world populated by cartoonish, self-absorbed people.  This morning we listen to the talking heads on CNN & Fox News rant about the George Zimmerman trial and feel lucky we can retreat from the surreal existence that is the modern American cultural landscape.  Our dog show life seems much more like the America we want to live in.

GCH CH Nuuktok’s Atka Inukshuk

Day three in Tunbridge VT found Walter Sommerfelt in the final ring for the Green Mountain Dog Club.  Joining him were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Kuluta All Along the Watchtower, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Angel’s Whisper, the Pug, GCH CH Warpug Black and Blue Reme, the American Eskimo Dog, GCH CH Nuuktok’s Atka Inukshuk, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Bramley’s Green Mountain Boy.

The two who went to the front were the IWS, Riley, and the Eskie, Inuk.  Riley is the Number One Irish Water Spaniel and the Number Three Sporting Dog with nine BIS this year.
