MONDAY MORNING MOP UP

GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eenie Miney Moe

With 40 all breed shows to cover in our Monday Morning Mop Up is an ambitious undertaking.  Let’s start in Columbus OH where several of our top dogs gathered, including the Number One Dog All Breeds, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm.  Oakley and handler Phil Booth would end the four day stint with two Bests In Show, and two Reserve Best In Shows

Judge Catterson would choose the Basset, Tiger, as his Best In Show and Oakley, as his Reserve.  Tiger and handler Brian Martin have eight BIS & 47 Hound Groups.

HERNANDO COUNTY KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH

Our final report from last weekend comes in from Brooksville FL and the Hernando County Kennel Club.  The weekend’s two all breed shows were preceded by two days of specialties and two all Terrier limited breed shows.  Nonetheless, the weekend belonged to the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH, who headed for home with both of the all breed rosettes.

On Saturday Arley Hussin liked Truman more than he did his RBIS, the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Sunburst One Cool Dude, whom he liked more than the Afghan Hound, GCH CH  Criston’s Enchanted, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Cambria’s Mint Condition, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Keystone's Doctor Blue, the Havanese, GCH CH Yup's Malibu Dream, or the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dacun Kaylen's He's A Heartbreaker.

Sunday Truman was Elaine Lessig’s BIS and the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Hampton Court's Party Time At Legend, was her RBIS.  Rounding out her hopefuls were the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Elmo’s Martian Chronicles, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Mileka's Belle Starr, the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CH MKC Bonaparte, and the previously seen Standard Poodle & Sheltie.

Truman now has 12 BIS and 47 Sporting Groups in a year when it’s tough to be a Sporting Dog.

OZARKS KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eenie Meenie Miney Moe

We are still wrapping up last weekend’s reports.  This morning we have the results of the Ozarks Kennel Club’s two shows in Springfield MO, where we had the rarity of BACK2BACK BIS by a Basset Hound.  (We don’t get a shot at that kind of alliteration often) Saturday, the country’s Number One Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eenie Meenie Miney Moe, was Dr Robert Berndt BIS.  DR Berndt also liked the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, CH Claymores Madame Butterfly, whom he gave the RBIS.

Rounding out Saturday’s final were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Kan Points Makin The Chase, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Skyscots Texas Hold’Em, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Endor and Donandru's New Moon,  and the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire.

CH Jan Le's Deck The Walls

Sunday the Basset, Tiger, impressed judge Fred Bassett, more than did the RBIS, the Pomeranian, CH Jan Le's Deck The Walls, the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Newstead Echoes Of Love, the Boxer, Macey, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Cumhil Hellraiser, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Jade East Do You Know The Way To San Jose, and the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, GCH CH Ponwood's Smoky.

Tiger is the only Basset Hound to win a BIS this year.  He and handler Brian Martin have seven BIS and 45 Hound Groups, good enough to make Tiger the Number Seven Hound in the US.
