MONDAY MORNING MOP UP



GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm

We begin our Monday Morning Mop Up with another BIS win by the country’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm.  It was the third this weekend for Oakley and handler Phil Booth.

Yesterday’s win came at the Ramapo Kennel Club day one show in Augusta NJ.    Dr Steve Keating ‘s RBIS was the Lakeland, GCH CH Larkspur Acadia Save Me A Spot.  Rounding out the seven were the Petit Basset Griffon  Vendeen, GCH CH Celestial CJ's All's Well That Ends Well, the Samoyed, GCH CH McMagic's Candied Ham Of Pebbles Run, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, the French Bulldog, CH Magnums Smokin Hot At Bella Ridge, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Solange Significant.  

Oakley 56th BIS of the waning year leaves him at the top of rankings for another week.

PALISADES KENNEL CLUB

The place to be in the Northeast this week was Augusta NJ where the Palisades Kennel Club & Ramapo Kennel Club are hosting four days of doggy fun.  The PKC had the opener on Friday and Angela Porpora had the first final.  Her options were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Northwind’s First Reign, the Afghan Hound, Scaramouche Show Must Go On, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH D’s Remember When, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Larkspur Acadia Save Me A Spot, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee’s Easily Persuaded, the Bulldog, Mysterious Flaming Star of the Angels, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Vinelake's Machu Picchu.

The Afghan from South Africa grabbed the Reserve award while the Doberman, Jackson, packed up the big rosette.  Jackson and handler Gwen DeMilta are fresh from the Doberman Pinscher Club of America’s national specialty where they took home the Best of Opposite Sex award.  Friday’s win was their 13th BIS of the year.

Saturday’s PKC final was in the hands of Robert Hutton who chose his top two from the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen,
GCH CH Celestial CJ's All's Well That Ends Well, the Doberman, Jackson, the above named Lakeland, Spot, the Maltese, CH Richelieu's Here Comes Trouble Again, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Beauciel Presque Parfait, and the Shetland Sheepdog, Solange Significant.

His Reserve was the Lakeland, Spot, and his Best In Show went to the GWP, Oakley.  The Number One Dog All Breeds’ 55th BIS of 2012 leaves Our top two dogs only a handful of points apart.

Fanciers is the “Land of Enchantment”  have  been treated to two weeks of dog shows.  This week the Sangre De Cristo Kennel Club & the Valencia Valley Kennel Club Of New Mexico have teamed up for four shows in Los Lunas NM.

The Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Winning Ribbon, made the most of the first two days taking both of the SCKC’s two offerings.  On Thursday Tomas Gomez preferred the little girl to the English Setter, GCH CH Iobelra Flow-N Owen, the Whippet, Cloud Nine I Made Fire, his RBIS, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Sealyham Terrier, CH  Hotshots Royal She'll Make 'Em Cry, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Jethrene Bodine, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Camelot's Broadway Musical At Aquavida.

Friday the three year old impressed Russell McFadden more than did the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Scion Hott Pants RN, the Reserve, the Smooth Dachshund, GCH CH Grandgables Sumbuddy Walden, the above named Kuvasz & Sealyham, the French Bulldog, or the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Allegro Southern Charm. That makes three BIS in ten final appearances this year for the latest star from the legendary Japanese kennels.

Saturday Dr Sophia Kaluzniacki saw the previously seen Dachshund, Kuvasz, & French Bulldog, the Labrador Retriever, GCH CH Hollywick's Ariste's Maximum Impact, the Airedale Terrier, CH Stirling Tunes Of Glory, the Maltese, GCH CH Scylla Small Kraft Re-Lit, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Traveler’s Pierce Arrow.  Her RBIS was the Lab, Crash, while BIS went to the country’s Number Seven Dog All Breeds, the Kuvasz, Tanner.  Tanner and handler Diana Wilson, now have 20 BIS this season, five in the last five weeks.

The Catonsville Kennel Club were in West Friendship MD Friday & Saturday this week for their two shows.  Six of Patricia Hess’ seven finalists of the set were BIS winners, the Weimaraner, GCH CH Northwoods Send Money Honey, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret, the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CH MKC Bonaparte, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, and the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight’s Ruffian, with the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Whisperwood’s Wild Horse, being the only non-BIS winner.

Judge Hess remedied that, selecting the OES, Eric, over his more experienced competitors.  Her RBIS was the Westie, Party Boy.   Congratulations to Eric’s breeder/owner Joyce Wetzler, co-breeder Karen Burdash, and owner Joyce Wetzler.

Eric, the Foxhound, Jewel, the Akita, Trader, the Affenpinscher, Joey, & the Dalmatian, Ian, would all return on Saturday to see BIS judge Frank McCartha.  They were joined by the ASCOB cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Hitrails Clouds In MY Eyes, & the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Class Act by Hallsblu. 

GCH CH Spotlight’s Ruffian

Judge McCartha’s RBIS was the Dal, Ian, and his BIS, was the Foxhound, Jewel.  Jewel is the winningest American Foxhound in AKC history with 26 career all breed BIS, all this year.  This win will move her into the Top Ten Dogs All Breeds after weeks of sitting in the Number Eleven spot.
