IT'S THE WHIPPET IN TEXAS

The winningest Whippet in AKC history, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel, was in Lubbock TX yesterday to pick up her 72^nd career BIS at the day two show of the Heart Of The Plains Kennel Club.

Joining Cha Cha and breeder/owner/handler Lori Lawrence in George Boulton’s BIS ring were the Brittany, GCH CH Dual Lane's Cam JH, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Colored Bull Terrier, GCH CH Glentom's You Were Mint For Me, the Toy Poodle, Dalin Dreamy, the RBIS, the Finnish Spitz, GCH CH Pikkinokka Badgr Sir Barksalot, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Traveler’s Pierce Arrow. 

This was Cha Cha’s first big rosette since returning from maternity leave and the first with breeder/owner Lori Lawrence.

GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH

The Greater Murfreesboro Kennel Club has a two day set in their hometown here in our home state of Tennessee.  Yesterday’s final was the call of Letitia Bett whose seven options were the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH, the Saluki, GCH CH Kahiva’s Ramirasil, the Great Dane, GCH CH DRD’s The Revelation, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CH Sylon Bruce of Ringmaster, the Maltese, GCH CH Scylla’s Small Kraft Re-Lit, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the Pembroke welsh Corgi, GCH CH Dalarno Nitesong at Morning Star.

Her RBIS was the StaffyBull and her BIS was the GWP, Truman.  Truman, the nephew of the Number One Dog All Breeds, continues the family tradition of winning BIS with seven this year as well as 37 Sporting Groups.

Murel Purkhiser was in Freeport IL to call the final for the day one show of the Rockford-Freeport Illinois Kennel Club.  The seven who made it to the final ring were the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Buteo's Midnight Silence, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Windfall, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Nightline Viking At Tanglewood, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH SNT's Secret Weapon, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Stonehill Great Escape, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the Briard, GCH CH La Vie Rose Dior-August-Moon CD RN.   

GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Windfall  

Finishing One/Two were the Chihuahua, Stevie, and the Bloodhound, Credo.  You may remember that Stevie picked up his first BIS just last weekend in Chattanooga.  Keep an eye on this one.  We hear he owns the ring.

MONROE KENNEL CLUB DAY ONE

GCH CH Mt View’s Ripnsorter Silver Charm

The Country’s Number One Dog, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripnsorter Silver Charm, was in Monroe MI yesterday picking up one of the biggest BIS of his career, an impressive 1633 point win at Saturday’s Monroe Kennel Club show.

Challenging Oakley for the win was Jon Cole’s RBIS, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Hundelben’s Queen’s Armada SL, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Tugar’s America’s Most Wanted, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake Simply Sinfu, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH C and J’s Silver Charm of Chyrsallis.  

 Oakley’s 51^st BIS of the year puts him a little more than 1700 points ahead of the competition.

Before we get into today’s reports let’s talk about yesterday.  Out on the Island (Long Island, that is) the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Larkspur Save Me A Spot, was making it BACK2BACK BIS at the Suffolk County Kennel Club’s second show in St James NY.  Joining Spot & handler RC Carusi in David Bolus’ final were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Skypoint's Our River Runs Free, the RBIS, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Field’s Bahama Sands, the Boxer, GCH CH Draco Greets Dassin With Fourbears, the Blenheim & Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH Royalist Ready To Reign, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Salishan’s Special Angel, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Sporting Fields Heiress.

The win brings Spot’s 2012 take to 16 BIS & 59 Terrier Groups.  That’s a formidable record for Spot to take into next week’s Montgomery County Kennel Club all Terrier show.
