NORTHWEST ARKANSAS KC

While many of the nation’s finest flocked to Pennsylvania this weekend in search of a piece of the big point action, others preferred to stay closer to home and enjoy their local shows.  The Northwest Arkansas Kennel Club was in Fayetteville AR for their two shows.

The first day wrapped up with James Briley looking over the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Cajun’s A Change Is Gonna Come, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Northgate’s AS You Like It, the Bernese Mountain Dog, Lavish’s Dark Horse v Ayehli, the Smooth Fox Terrier, Trimore Three Things to Remember Nilee, the Pomeranian, GCH CH CR Simply Irresistible, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Chaoyang Chick Magnet at Asia, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Kylene Eden The Dragon Slayer HIC.

The top Pharaoh Hound in AKC history added another BIS to his record, his 29th of the year & his 46th career BIS.

GCH CH Szumeria’s Sing a Song of Six Pence

Sunday Mary Lou Kniola would see the same Pharaoh Hound, Pom, Shar-Pei, & Sheltie along with the Pointer, CH Seasyde Edgehill Heart of Gold, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Sing a Song of Six Pence, and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CH Crossguns Black Eye Pea.

She chose the Kuvasz, Song as her Best In Show.  It’s the first all breed Best for Song,, litter sister to the winningest Kuvazs in breed history & the current Number Six Dog All Breeds, GCH CH Szumeria's Wildwood Silver Six Pence.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Lynn Brady & Constance Townsend, co-breeders Bea & Clay Page, owner Sandy Herring, and handler Vicki Havicon.

DONNER TRAIL KENNEL CLUB

From Roseville CA in the Sierra foothills, we have results of this weekend’s Donner Trail Kennel Club.

On Saturday it was the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Segre’s Brown Derby RA NA NAJ, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Field’s Bahama Sands, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Mystique’s Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, the Standard Manchester terrier, GCH CH Medley’s Princess Bride, the Toy Manchester Terrier, GCH CH Rosewood Casanova, the Boston Terrier, CH Sunwood’s Regal design, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Rainedance Written in Stone PT AX AXJ, all lining up for judge Mildred Bryant.

Her Best was the Doberman, Lucy.  This ingĂ©nue is just 20 months old.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Rick King & Susan King and handler Carmen Ruby on Lucy’s first Working Group One & her very first all breed BIS.  Can we get a photo of this debutante?

George Marquis wrapped it up on Sunday with the Weimaraner, GCH CH Silhouette’s LifeInTheFastLane, the Saluki, GCH CH Jamora Mystic Topaz JC, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Catanya’s Latin Lover, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH A Cut Above, the Pug, GCH CH Storybook’s Legacy to Cherish at Coral Bay, the Keeshond, GCH CH Summerwind’s Rumor Has It, and the above named Aussie.

It was one of our original DOGS2WATCH, the Malamute, Ricky, picking up his sixth BIS & his 22nd Working Group First of the year.  Ricky has been the nation’s Number One Alaskan Malamute for the last two years.

BIS judge John Studebaker had the pleasure of the company of the ASCOB Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Creek Ridge Eye Wanna Be A Rock Star, the Norwegian Elkhound, GCH CH Aspen's Power Play, the Boxer, GCH CH Katandy's Fast Forward, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Glaurieus Top Super Mod Elle, the Maltese, GCH CH Ta-Jon's Just Bee-Ing Silly, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Hispot's  Cause For Applause, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Lisara's Smooth Operator.

Best In Show went to the Boxer, Frankie.  It’s the first all breed Best for Frankie, who is a multi BISS and was BOS at this year’s American Boxer Club's National Specialty.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Lee Morris and handler Stan Flowers.  We have been promised a photo of this handsome boy.

GCH CH Brackley He’s My Warrior

Our Post Montgomery County Monday Morning Mop Up is upon us and we are going to start in Philpott KY with the Owensboro Kennel Club’s two shows.

William Underwood had the day one final and his choice of the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Basset Hound, GCH CH For Merrill Topsfield Yahoo, the Alaskan Malamute, CH Canutes U Talking To Me, the Scottish Terrier, CH Sabo Glens Angel Fire, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Brackley He’s My Warrior, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Rough Collie, GCH CH Taliesin Fashion Forward.

His Best was the MinPin, Maximum.  It’s his fourth of the year and his second in the last two weekends.

Sunday the Black Russian Terrier, GCH CH Lancelot Chiornyy Prints would join six of Saturday’s finalists to plead their case with BIS judge Dennis McCoy.    He would choose AKC’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Cocker, Beckham.   Beckham’s second BIS of the weekend, gives him a field leading 51 all breed Bests in 2011.

FULTON COUNTY KC DAY TWO

Day two of the Fulton County Kennel Club in Wauseon OH ended with Joe Walton pondering a choice of the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Tender Is The Night, the Greyhound, GCH CH Gaia Elfin Dance, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Bolero Gentle Gisele Of Briarcliff Pointe, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Lyrical's Shake Your Moneymaker, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Bichon Frise, CH Cher Ami s Babeau Pour Vous, or the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.

He would go with the Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Peke, Malachy.  Malachy is on track to be the Number One Toy Dog in the US for the second year in a row with 43 BIS.

If you were looking for all breed action today in Pennsylvania you were in Aliquippa PA for the Beaver County Kennel Club's day two show.  The seven who made it to Robert Slay’s final were the Brittany, GCH CH Carrollton's Count Lancelot , the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Kontoki’s a Bend in the Road, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Cracknor’s Cross the Ts, the Maltese, CH Chrisman’s Shiny Toy Gun, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Barberry’s Sweet As Apple Pie, and the Briard, CH Le Coeur d’Ange de Briardale.

Grabbing the big rosette was the Siberian, Benson.  Benson now has three BIS this year, two in the last two weeks.

Florida Fanciers were in Lake City today for day two with the Suwannee Valley Kennel Club Of Florida.  James Fredericksen summoned a seven of the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Gemini Fallchase The Butler Did It , the Whippet, GCH CH Bo-Bett’s Speed Demon, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Cammcastle‘s Gigolo, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Major League‘s Silver Slugger, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Dancee Moonlight Fashion, the Bulldog, CH Lakeshores Can't Keep A Good Man Down, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Equinox Ad Astra.

Picking up his second BIS of the year was the Whippet, Demon.  Demon has turned on the afterburners lately, picking up half of his twelve Hound Group Firsts in the last five weeks. 

AUGUSTA KENNEL CLUB DAY TWO

Pete Dawkins closed out the weekend for the Augusta (SC) Kennel Club.  The seven he considered were the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH, the Whippet, GCH CH Karasar’s Masterpiece, the Great Pyrenees, GCH CH Rivergroves Coco Mademoiselle, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CH Mustang Sally‘s Dream Boy, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Bodacious Sleeping With The Enemy, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Myshara’s Dream Girl.  Best went to the Great Pyrenees, Coco.  It her second this year in a dozen final appearances.

CHAMPLAIN VALLEY KC DAY TWO

We do have some all breed results to bring you as well.  The Pug, GCH CH Caper's Sirius Endeavor, left Pennsylvania for Essex Junction VT where he collected the BIS at the day two show of the Champlain valley Kennel Club.  
 
Rounding out June Penta’s final were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Hillock’s A Diamond at Broadway, the Norwegian Elkhound, GCH CH Sommeri Dunharrow’s Devil ray, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Huskavarna’s destined to win, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Notice Northern Lights, the American Eskimo Dog, GCH CH Nuuktok’s Atka Inukshuk, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.  Rufus and owner/handler now have eleven all breed BIS.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Efbe’s Goodspice Easy Money

While the first week of October can be wet & chilly in suburban Philadelphia, today’s 77th Montgomery County Kennel Club show was greeted by sunny skies and downright balmy temperatures today in Blue Bell PA.  1600 dogs showed up to compete at the largest limited breed show in AKC.  
Four of the breeds had more than 100 dogs showing.  Those BOB winners were the Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Maverston Double Dutch, the Scottish Terrier, CH Deblin’s Just Talk’N, the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, CH Greentree Rising Star, and the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CH Blythefell Fergus.

Australian judge Keith Lovell got to see all 29 AKC Terrier breeds/varieties in his group, an exceedingly rare occurrence these days.  He whittled those down to nine, the Airedale, GCH CH Brisline’s GoForIt Energizer Bunny, the Bedlington, CH First Class Syrah d’Hermitage, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Perrisblu Kennislain’s Chelsey, the Lakeland, CH Northcote’s No Doubt, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Waiterock Jack Falstaff, the Sealyham Terrier, GCH CH Efbe’s Goodspice Easy Money, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Bruhill’s First Lady, and the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Steele Your Heart.

In 2008 handler Margery Good stood in the center ring with the Sealyham Terrier, CH Efbe's Hidalgo At Goodspice.  Today she was standing there with another Sealyham, Valley.  Rounding out the placements were the Wire Fox, the Kerry, & the Airedale.  Valley is the country’s Number One Sealyham all systems with two all breed BIS and 13 Terrier Groups this year.  We say Brava! & congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Margery Good, co-breeder Frances Bergeron, and owner Sandra Middlebrooks.
