GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Kiss And Tell

While we had complete reports this weekend from Seattle WA, we were not able to get much from the Apple Valley Kennel Club’s two shows in Victorville CA.  However, now we can tell you that Carl Gomes’ final seven on Saturday were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Shortales N Cahoots W Irondale JH, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Kiss And Tell, the Boxer, CH Irondale’s Tapout, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Sunlyn Living Legend, the Papillon, Whitestar’s Come Fly With Me, the Finnish Spitz, GCH CH DV9K9's Red Hot Star, and the Rough Collie, CH Stoneypoint Undercover.

Best went to the Bloodhound Kissy, her first this year.  Kissy was the top winning Bloodhound  last  year, collecting five all breed Bests and 20 Hound Group Firsts in 2010.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Susan Lacroix & Heather Whitcomb and handler Bruce F Schultz.

GCH CH Gleanngay Legend of the Grail

Jeraldeen Crandall closed the set with the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Otein Cap’n Jack Sparrow, the Bloodhound Kissy, the above named Boxer, the Soft Coat Wheaten Terrier, GCH CH Gleanngay Legend of the Grail, the Pug, GCH CH Zevald’s Perfect N Dandy, the Bulldog, GCH CH Newcomb’s BC Modem Major General, and the Australian Shepherd, GCCH CH Blackrock American Flyer PT.

Best went to the Wheaten, KC.  It’s the first for the 2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship breed winner.  Congratulations to breeder Gay Dunlap, owner Sally Leonard and handler Amy Rutherford.

FRANKLIN TN

GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction

While the numbers in Franklin TN at the Nashville Kennel Club & the Tullahoma Kennel Club Of Tennessee four shows didn’t match those at Crufts, they were the largest points available here in the US this week.  We told you all about Thursday’s and Friday’s shows.  Here’s what happened on Saturday and Sunday.

The TKCT hosted Saturday’s event and asked James Reynolds to choose his Best from the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Basenji, GCH CH Signet Meiserhaus Gossip Girl, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream, the Norfolk Terrier, Cracknor Cross The T's, the Chinese Crested,  CH Legends Stop The Press At Zhen, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfactin, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Bandheim’s Captain Crunch.

His Best was the outstanding black Standard Poodle, London.  The win. London’s sixth this yer, will be good enough to give him a Top Five berth.

The NKC closed it out with Jane Forsyth’s final with the Saturday’s Cocker, Basenji, Boxer, Norfok, & GSD, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, and the Schipperke, GCH CH Dante Fire When Ready.  She chose the nation’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Cocker, Beckham.  This one, his eight of the year, will put him almost 10,000 points ahead of his nearest competitor.  However, with almost 15,000 dogs entered next weekend in Louisville that could change soon.

GCH CH Everglory's The Sultan Of Swat

The Garden City Kansas Kennel Club set up for three days in their hometown this week.  You may remember that the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, was Norm Kenney’s Best In Show on Friday.  Tanner was joined in the final ring by the Weimaraner, CH Pikes Peak Rocky Mountain High, the Saluki, GCH CH Aurora's Walk This Way, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Tontine’s Chance Redemption, the Havanese, GCH CH Tamaran Up In Smoke, the Schipperke, CH Bonchien Cedric The Entertainer, and the Smooth Collie, Wild Wind’s Kiss This.

We did get you an earlier report on Saturday’s show, but we still owe you one on Sunday’s.  Joe Tacker closed it out with the Irish Setter, CH Antares Amelia Earhart, the Petit Bassett Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Dehra Amazona Bvlgari, the Boxer, GCH CH R And G’s Mystical Dancer, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Everglory's The Sultan Of Swat, the Japanese Chin, CH Sylvancreek’s Clutch Cargo, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Vaje's Miss Jayne Hathaway, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Enchanted’s American Thunder.

MILTON NY

GCH CH D'Oro Solido's Feliciano Uno

It was a busy week with shows all over the US and Crufts in England.  We’ve tried to keep up, but we still have more results for you.

In Milton NY, we had three days of shows that began on Friday.  We did tell you that the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins, was Dr Gareth Morgan-Jones’ BIS at the day one show of the Monticello New York Kennel Club.  We did not tell you that Roy and handler Cliff Steele were accompanied by the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Tender Is The Night, the Pharaoh Hound, DC Hallam's Ethan Ramel MC LCX,, the Boxer, GCH CH Jacquet's Laredo El Encanto, the Irish Terrier, CH Laochragh's Clancy, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Pekingese Midnight Vision At Wenshu, and the Miniature Poodle, CH Surrey Sugar Baby.

On Saturday the day two show final was called by Timothy Catterson who had his pick of the above named Springer, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Langrigg Star Of The Stage, the Rottweiler, GCH CH D'Oro Solido's Feliciano Uno, the Wire Fox Terrier, CH Blackdale Sweetheart, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Hillwood Dassin Shut Up N'Dance, and Friday’s BIS winner, the Beardie, Roy.

His BIS was the Rott, Lucky.  It’s the first BIS this year for Lucky, who finished 2010 with one top prize and 15 Working Group Firsts.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Deborah M Cabe and handler Michelle Scott.

GCH CH Cerise Tender Is The Night

The Saw Mill River Kennel Club closed the weekend with Sharon Lyons considering the aforementioned Springer, Beagle, Affenpinscher, & Beardie along with the Siberian Husky, CH Myla's Jet Ski, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, and the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Salishan's My Special Angel.  Her Best was the Springer, Zelda.  It’s the first this year for Zelda and handler Howard Huber Jr.   Zelda was the Number One English Springer Spaniel in the US last with three BIS and 23 Sporting Groups.  Congratulations to Howard, breeders Dorothy Cherry & Donna Herzig, and owners Dorothy Cherry, Carl Blaine, & Fran Sunseri.

COLUMBIA MISSOURI KC DAY TWO

GCH CH Royal Guardian's That's My Boy

In the Columbia MO James Fredericksen wrapped it up for the Columbia Missouri Kennel Club.  He has his choice of the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Royal Guardian's That's My Boy, the Long Haired Dachshund, CH Hundeleben Queen Armada SL, the Akita, CH Cas Cobo  Haul Eudora, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH First Class Syrah D'Hermitage, the Pug, CH Dynasty's Shooter of the Pines, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight's Honor To Pillowtalk, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Kylene Eden The Dragonslayer.

Best went to the Cocker, Louis.  It’s the first AKC Best In Show for Louis.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Younghwa Shin and handler Kendall J DeSanto.

SEATTLE KENNEL CLUB DAY TWO

GCH CH Full Of Malarkey Miles Of Aisles

Jan Paulk closed the weekend in Seattle WA in the company of the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Poole's Ide Got Water RN, the Redbone Coonhound, Eskai's Sir Kasper, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol's Veni Vidi Vici, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Temris Bully For Me, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Full Of Malarkey Miles Of Aisles, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Snowdowne When In Rome.

Her BIS was the Cavalier, Miles.  It’s the first BIS this year for Miles, the reigning breed winner at both last month’s Westminster Kennel Club and the 2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.  Congratulations to breeders/owner Patrick &  Tamara Kelly.

SAN ANTONIO KC DAY TWO

Jackie Stacy closed the four day set in San Antonio TX.  Her final seven at the day two show of the hometown San Antonio Kennel Club were the Clumber Spaniel, Cajun‘s A Change Is Gonna Come, the Pharaoh hound, GCH CH Northgate’s As You Like It, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream Of Style, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Alpine’s Ring Of Fire, the Pekingese, BN’ Elphasun’s Razzmatazz, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Hamelot Little Drummer Boy, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, CH Aubrey’s tails Of Mystery.

Her Best was the Pharaoh Hound, Qing, his third of the set.  We will have to wait for the final numbers before we can be sure, but we can tell you that our Top Two Hounds are in a dead heat.  We don'tknow who’s out front yet, but we know that the race for Top Hound is a scorcher.

PALM BEACH COUNTY DFA DAY TWO

GCH CH Sporting Field‘s Bahama Sands

The show season is in full swing this weekend with shows across the US.  The Palm Beach County Dog Fanciers association wrapped up their two days in West Palm Beach with Ann Youhasz call the final.  She chose her BIS from the Golden Retriever, CH Happy Hour Highmark Toasty, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Field‘s Bahama Sands, the Boxer, CH Boca Royal Palms Smarty‘s Golden Girl, the Skye Terrier, CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dacun Kaylen's He's A Heartbreaker, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Equinox Ad Astra.  Her Best was the Whippet, Tawny.  Tawny is currently the Number Ten Dog All Breeds with seven all breed top prizes.

CRUFTS BEST IN SHOW!

SH CH Vbos The Kentuckian

The Italian judge, Dr Paolo Dondina, had the monumental task of judging Best In Show. at today's 2011 Crufts final.  Judge Dondina has had a busy year, judging BIS at last month’s Westminster Kennel Club show.  From 21,500 entries, seven survived to greet Dr Dondina, the Flatcoated Retriever, SH CH Vbos The Kentuckian, the he Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Soletrader Peek A Boo, the German Shepherd Dog, CH Elmo Vom Hunhnegrab, the Wire Fox Terrier, CH Travella Star Lord, the Bichon Frise, CH Pampolona Bring Me Sunshine, the Standard Poodle, CH Vicmars Rave on JW, and the Boxer, CH/IR CH Winuwuk Lust At First Sight.

The seven finalists provided a wonderful full spectrum of the British dog game from the veteran nine year old Flatcoat, Jet, to the 17 month old PBGV, Jilly, who is just starting her show career, matching the more experienced dogs step for step.  Dr Dondina’s best in Show at the 120th Crufts was the Flatcoated Retriever, Jet.  Reserve went to the only bitch in the final line up and the youngest, the PBGV, Jilly.

Jet is one of the winningest dogs in the Kennel Club’s history.  Jet was shown to the win by his breeder/owner James Irvine.  Our congratulations to him and all the winners.

CRUFTS DAY FOUR, UTILITY & TOY

Day four at Crufts was a whirlwind with more events in the big ring than we could keep up with.  The main events were the judging of the Utility (Non-Sporting) and Toy Groups and Best In Show.

First up was the Utility Group judged by Mr Terry Nethercott.  His Best In Group was the Standard Poodle, CH Vicmars Rave on JW, Reserve went to the Lhasa Apso, CH Zentarr Elizabeth, Third to the Akita, CH Ruthdales Candy From A Baby, and Fourth to the Shih Tzu, Santosha Tunderbolt.  Theo is the Top Winning Poodle in the UK for 2010.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Sharon Pine-Haynes. 

CH Pampolona Bring Me Sunshine

Mr JR Haynes had the pleasure of the Toy Group judging.  His Best was the Bichon Frise, CH Pampolona Bring Me Sunshine. Reserve went to the Lowchen, CIB/NORD CH Cjic Choix Markey Lifar. Thrid to the Pug, N/S/DK/FIN/NORD/RUS/LV/LT/BALK CH Tangetoppen’s Unbreakable News, & Fourth to the Pomeranian, DK/SE/INT/SK CH Soffies Queen Bee WW09.  The Bichon, Eric, was fourth in the Toy Group at last year’s Crufts.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Michael Coad.
