NORTH TO ALASKA

GCH CH Silveroak’s First & Foremost

We have slogged through rain, mud, snow, and ice to get to a dog show, but we have to tip our hats to the hardy exhibitors who braved an Alaskan winter to attend this weekend’s Kenai Kennel Club & Alaska Kennel Club shows in Anchorage AK.   We think it’s appropriate that the KKC BIS went to 2010’s Number One American Eskimo Dog, GCH CH Silveroak’s First & Foremost.   Joining Primo in William Robert Russell Jr’s final were the Spinoni Italiano, CH Vericool L’Arte Della Leggenda, the Basset Hound, CH Sasquatch Double Exposure, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Tamarack’s Just Jammin, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Kemosabe Rodeo Rider, the Toy Poodle, McKay’s Rhinestone Cowgirl, and the Rough Collie, CH Susitina Royal Strider Of Tara Dells.

Primo finished 2010 with one BIS and 14 Non Sporting Group top prizes.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Ruth Sampson and handler Randy Benns.

Sunday’s BIS was called  by Doris Cozart.  Among her seven were Primo and the abovementioned Basset & Poodle, the  Irish Setter, CH Irish Tales Playboy, the Great Dane, CH Jaya N Danemark’s High Hopes, the Colored Bull Terrier, CH Magor The Minotaur From Stonebull, and the German Shepherd Dog, Toiabe First Impression HSAdsc.  She chose the GSD, Toiabe, as her Best.  It’s the first BIS for the three year old.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Rosemary Joralemon and Sandy Moore.

NEW DOG2WATCH AT VENTURA CO DFA

GCH CH Conquest-Rosend's New Kid In Town

In Ventura CA this past week, we had beautiful beach weather and a beautiful Boxer getting BACK2BACK BIS.  Does it get any better than that?  Jeanne Zuver’s Best In Show at Sunday’s Ventura County Dog Fanciers Association show was the Boxer, GCH CH Conquest-Rosend's New Kid In Town.  Riley was joined by the English Setter, GCH Oakley's B'Dazzled, the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel, the Australian Terrier, GCH CH Abq San Isidro Christhill, the Havanese, GCH CH Bellatak McDreamy, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH PaRay Power & Privilege, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Segni At Coventry.  Just 16 months old, we think Riley is a DOG2WATCH.

PASCO FLORIDA KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction

Our Florida Marathon wound up today with the ninth show in Brooksville FL in the last two weeks.  Today’s closer, BIS of the Pasco Florida Kennel Club, was judged by Jeffrey Pepper.  His final seven were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Greyhound, GCH CH Gaia’s Elfin Dance, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Indigo’s Hilltop Istate, the Skye Terrier, CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH Ch Marlex Classic Red Glare, French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Bayou’s The Warrior, and the Bearded Collie, CH Daybar Blew By U.

It was the 2010 Number Five Dog All Breeds, the Cocker, Beckham, getting the back2back win.   Beckham becomes the only dog to take two BIS during the stay in Brooksville, propelling himself into the Number One Dog All Breeds spot.  That could change depending on the outcome today's big show out in Portland OR.
