NUMBER TWO GETS ANOTHER BIS

GCH CH PalaceGarden

We return from shopping to results from Knoxville TN where the Oak Ridge Kennel Club hosted some of the nation’s top dogs yesterday.  Robert H Slay had the super seven of the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH cH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Whippet, CH Bo-Bett’s Speed Demon, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Skansen’s sir August Brigs, the Skye Terrier, CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Spitfire, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Myshara’s Dream Girl.  His BIS was the smallest among them, the Peke, Malachy.    Malachy, AKC’s Number Two Dog All Breeds, has been everywhere these past few weekends trying to close the distance between him and the Number One Dog.  We could not have written a better finish to this season.  This weekend is turning out to be a barn burner.  Do check with us for later for today’s results.

BIS FOR NUMBERS ONE & THREE

GCH CH Shadagee Caught Red Handed

Our top ranked dogs are not resting on their laurels, but keeping up the pressure on all fronts.  Today in Bloomsburg PA, the Number Three Dog All Breeds, the Irish Setter, GCH CH Shadagee Caught Red Handed, picked up her 36th all breed BIS this year, taking home the top prize at the Bald Eagle Kennel Club Of Williamsport PA show.

The Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, tightened  his grip on the Number One ranking with a back2back BIS in Fort Wayne IN at today’s Sturgis Kennel Club event.  It was Dodger’s 93 career Best In Show.  We still have lots of shows left this weekend and we will be the first to tell you about any shake up in the rankings.  So check back with us frequently.

BIS FOR BOTH NUMBERS ONE & TWO

GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy

The Tennessee Valley Kennel Club opened the four day set in Knoxville TN today with David Kirkland calling the final.  He had his choice of some of the best AKC has to offer including the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Bloodhound, CH Heather Father And Son, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Skansen's Sir August Brigs,  the Border Terrier, GCH CH Devon Lady Simper Fi, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Schipperke, GCH CH Dante Fire When Ready, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder.

His BIS was the US’ Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Peke, Malachy.  Malachy and owner/handler David Fitzpatrick’s 48th BIS should have put them within one BIS of the Number One Dog.  However, we hear that the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH  CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, also picked up another BIS at today’s La Porte County Kennel Club in Fort Wayne IN.  We expect we will still be seeing a very close race between Numbers One & Two come Monday morning.

HEAD EAST, YOUNG MAN

6398 feet high Pioneer Peak
Palmer Alaska

While we always encourage people to get out to the shows each weekend, you will have a problem doing that this week unless you live well east of the Mississippi with almost 80 percent of AKC’s shows being concentrated in the eastern US.  There is only one game in town for exhibitors in the Northeast, the Bald Eagle Kennel Club Of Williamsport, PA & the Back Mountain Kennel Club three shows in Bloomsburg PA, about 150 miles west of Manhattan.

We have more options down the eastern seaboard with four shows in Virginia Beach VA with the Tidewater Kennel Club Of Virginia and the Virginia Beach Kennel Club and two shows in North Augusta SC with the hometown Augusta Kennel Club.  Just a little west in Knoxville TN, you can have four with the Oak Ridge Kennel Club and the Tennessee Valley Kennel Club.  Floridians can spend the weekend with the Lake Eustis Kennel Club in Weirsdale FL, an hour north of Orlando.

Midwesterners can opt for five days in Fort Wayne IN beginning tomorrow with the Northeastern Indiana Kennel Club, the La Porte County Kennel Club, the Sturgis Kennel Club, & the Marion Kennel Club, or wait until the weekend for two in Joplin MO hosted by the Tri-state Kennel Club & the Bartlesville Kennel Club.  The Tri State Kennel Club are in Tulsa OK just for one day, Sunday.

Out west you have two options the San Gabriel Valley Kennel Club’s & the Antelope Valley Kennel Club’s  two shows east of LA in City of Industry or 3400 (yes, 3400) miles north in Palmer AK for the Cook Inlet Kennel Club’s one show on Sunday.   For all of you lucky enough to be close to a show, do take the opportunity to see the beautiful AKC purebred dogs.  For those who are just too far away, come visit us for the quickest results on the internet, photos of the winners, and the back stories no one else has.
