SITE SEEING WITH THE AKC

 Carmel CA's Iconic Lone Pine

After a plethora of clusters this summer, you will find only one four day stand available this week in Duluth MN where the hometown Duluth Kennel Club will kick off the week tomorrow with the first of four shows.  There is a kind of four day weekend available for the metropolitan NY area, but you will have to travel to make that one happen.  The fun starts out on Long Island in the hamlet of Riverhead NY where the Riverhead Kennel Club will host shows Friday & Saturday.  Then exhibitors will have to travel 110 very congested miles through New York City to Morristown NJ for the Twin Brooks Kennel Club’s two shows Sunday & Monday.  New England fanciers will have a similar journey, though more picturesque.  Staring in Tunbridge VT for Friday’s Woodstock Dog Club event and then motoring 90 minutes north to Essex Junction VT for Saturday’s Champlain Valley Kennel Club show and Sunday’s Green Mountain Dog Club party.

If you are in the Great Lakes region you will have your choice of Friday/Saturday/Sunday in Madison OH with Grand River Kennel Club & Ashtabula Kennel Club, in  Marshall MI, with the Holland Michigan Kennel Club  & Battle Creek Kennel Club, or in Belvidere IL with the Blackhawk Kennel Club, & Kishwaukee Kennel Club.    The rest of the offerings are of the two day, Saturday/Sunday variety.  There are shows in Berryville Va courtesy of the Shawnee Kennel Club.  Join us six minutes south of Graceland at the Greater Shelby Kennel Club’s two shows in Southaven  MS where we will be showing our Cairn.   Heart Landers can join the Nebraska Kennel Club in Omaha.

The rest of our offerings are all in spectacular locations out west.  Get a Rocky Mountain High in Eagle CO with the Roaring Fork Kennel Club, breath the clean air in Couer D’Alene ID with the Inland Empire Kennel Club, enjoy the raw beauty of the Olympic Peninsula in Lace WA with the Nisqually Kennel Club, or indulge yourself in the cafes and galleries in Carmel CA with the Del Monte Kennel Club.  Wherever you go, you can pair the glorious dogs of the AKC with some grand site seeing.
